Post what poll options you want and politely ask a mod to put them up for you.

But towards the bottom when you're creating a new thread there's a box you have to tick to add a poll.

At the top of the thread you can do it under Thread Tools.

Should have added an unsure category

If the US economy can fake a recovery untill Nov 2012 then I would suggest yes. If not then no

The Kenyan Tyrant will be in the Unemployment line in 2012.........

It depends. If the government shuts down and blame is placed on him, I think he will have a very hard time making it out with the DNC nomination. If the blame is placed on the Republicans, he will still have a hard time getting the nomination, but it will be easier.

I still say the biggest factors are the 1) the economy and 2) who goes up against him. Given what we know right now I'd say the odds are still slightly in his favor.

Doesn't the incumbent usually get the nomination by default?

Normally it happens, but considering how many Democrats are pissed with Obama it isn't hard to imagine that some may switch to Clinton if she decides to run. I mean it was totally possible that, again, we won't know the nominee until hours before the convention, but this time it could be a different outcome.

I have a hard time believing that the DNC would choose someone else unless Obama is an absolute disaster from here on out; they'd pretty much be shooting themselves in the foot. As much as many liberals (including myself) have been less than thrilled with his performance, I'd say he's still the front runner.

All signs point to NO......

Considering how Obama constantly defies the Will of the People.......all signs point to HELL NO......

Without question he is the front runner, my point was it won't be some easy victory as is. And if he gets blamed for a shutdown, I don't know if they would rather put some one up who stands a better chance at against the GOP candidate. Granted, a lot of polling and debates happen between now and then and so maybe you are right and Obama will get the nomination either way.

That question seems to be in the hands of Donald Trump at the moment.

I agree. However, I don't think he'll get blamed for the shutdown and depending on how long it lasts, it might not even play as big a part in his reelection as other factors. I still say at the end of the day it's a very long shot that the DNC would choose another candidate to replace him, but that's just my personal opinion.

It sure doesn't look good for him at this point. I'm waiting to see who his opponent is before I say for sure who I'll be voting for. There are definitely worse choices (Michele Bachmann jumps to mind immediately). There are also better choices, but I think a lot of it depends on who the Republicans run.

The last poll numbers, when I looked at them today, showed Romney having the best chance. But, I highly doubt he would get the nomination because of his religion, which would not fly over too well the the religious right, and Masscare.

There is not a chance in Hell he doesn't get the DNC nod... unless of course Hillary runs. As for re-election. Not looking too good for Mr. Carter, I mean, Mr. Obama.

Well see that is the kicker, it has to be Hillary. It was just the Super delegates had such a hard time picking between the two and it took Kennedy to petition them to go for Obama, that I don't know if some of the don't want do overs. And again we can't forget about Michigan and Florida.

Actually, polls still have him up, but once the debates and polling and campaigning starts, I am sure the numbers will change.

Of course Obama will get the nomination. And he'll probably win the election. Most incumbents do. However, I would be REALLY interested to see two candidates for the same party really have to differentiate themselves on the issues. Sadly, what that usually ends up meaning is that the other side will win. Like Gore and Nader splitting the left vote.

Either way, Obama will probably win. Especially if all the republican candidates are nutcases or extremists. Much as I might respect folks like Ron Paul or Mike Huckabee as having a lot of personal integrity, a lot of their policies are somewhat extreme. And as we've discussed in other threads, there aren't a lot of serious libertarians who'd vote for these guys.

I hope Obama doesn't win, but I think he is 50/50 right now. It depends largely on who the Republicans put out.

Obama will win, unless Donald Trump gets the Republican nomination, then all bets are off.

I think he will win. Not as big as first time but still a win.

Has anyone played with the interactive 270 in 2012 map?

Why do you think that Trump could beat Obama?
