No, Muslims should not protest the burning or other destruction of bibles.

They have to grow up and stop rioting when someone destroys a copy of their book of lies, mythology, and hatred.

Jeez, they're printed by the million, what do those idiot's think happens to the remaindered copies that aren't sold? Do they believe the unpurchased Korans are sent to a happy retirement to enjoy the company of 70 Playboy magazines?

The Mayor notes the left was much more pleased when the imbeciles...(or is that "infidels"?)...were burning Bush in effigy rather than Obama.

No. You've established that South Africa lacks true freedom of speech. Are you trying to claim the US should become more like South Africa?

The whole issue is that in the United States people are free to exercise their freedom of speech.

    Period.

We do not want to beome a retarded country like France, which is in the process of banning religious icons and dress, or moronic like Germany, which stifles freedom by outlawing pro-Nazi literature, or touchy-feely like Canada, with it's multidinous "don't hurt anyone's feelings" laws. Not one of those countries is free as long as they're attempting to control the content of speech.

America expects it's people to act like men, and if someone can't take an insult, they need to grow up.

Sticks and stones may break my bones, but burning (bibles/korans/torahs/"Fahrenheit 451's") will never hurt me.

I didn't really give much of a ****, personally it mattered to me about as much as when someone burns a flag because you'll always have your crazies. But as for those who were "pleased" that Bush was burning in effigy. Maybe, now just maybe, that could be because a lot of the left disliked Bush.
Nobody who wins a war indulges in a bifurcated definition of victory. War is a political act; victory and defeat have meaning only in political terms. A country incapable of achieving its political objectives at an acceptable cost is losing the war, regardless of battlefield events.

Bifurcating victory (e.g. winning militarily, losing politically) is a useful salve for defeated armies. The "stab in the back" narrative helped take the sting out of failure for German generals after WWI and their American counterparts after Vietnam.

All the same, it's nonsense. To paraphrase Vince Lombardi, show me a political loser, and I'll show you a loser.

Some don't give a crap if they hate us or love us, it shouldn't be a catalyst to destroy who we are.

Since their actions (burning Christians, not just bibles, beheadings, mass religious hysteria riots, use of their own children as suicide bombers, their treatment of women as less important than their cattle, their overall completely backwards cultures) do nothing to earn the Mayor's respect, the Mayor isn't going to be so dishonest as to pretend he cares how they feel one way or another.

    Wow.

You managed to figure that out.

    That's a surprise....

Jones seeked attention for this action, and he got it, but few people in this country support him. That, to me, speaks volumes and gives me hope that we are holding ourselves to that higher standard I mentioned before. If America must lead, than let us lead in this way.
    Oh, the Mayor supports him.

He has the freedom to do as he wishes with his property, and he needs no further support than that.

The Mayor also notes that if the burning of ONE (1!) Koran can lead to mass unrest in the streets of our enemies, we're wasting far too much money on guns and bombs. The expense of implementing originalKoranburning.com devoted to Koran burning would be less than the salary of one State Department flunky.
