Where is the option "Help Islamists to establish Muslim State in Lybia"?

The poll itself is skewed. It only provides for two options, when in reality there are several factors. To say that the war is solely about oil is total BS. Does oil play a factor? Yes, but it is not the sole reason.

LOL Bombardation hahahaha oh man that should be the next word to be added to the OED...

And Palin didn't even come up with that one...

Seriously, Libya already sells much of its oil to European countries so what would the point be?

Not sure. But bombardation is unfortunate.

Right... because Ghadaffi massacring the civilians in the east of the country and then reasserting dictatorial control over the country would be SO much better...

You're right. Honestly I'm a bit sick of the whole "war/blood for oil" bullcrap. It's a huge simplification of the realities and decision-making in going to war. And the fact that we don't even get a whole lot of oil from Libya just ****s on that rationale.

why would it be there where already oil deals done with Libya.Regardless of a countries resources we should always support democracy over dictatorship when we are able to do so.

I agree. We have supported too many tyrants in the past. It is about time we support the PEOPLE of the Middle East and other parts of the world. Perhaps if we do that, there wouldn't be so much hatred of the U.S. in many parts of the world.

:lamo Because Gadaffi was clearly an athiest.

Actually Alfons has a point here, namely that Gadaffi and his regime was for the most part secular, and the US needed his cooperation in keeping the extremists at bay. He was nominally an ally in the fight against extremism until we decided that rebellions are cute.

By secular you mean enforcing Sharia Law? And keeping extremists at bay by funding dozens of Islamic and Communist terrorists across the globe from Indonesia to Palestine to Colombia? He's just as bad as any other North African or Middle Eastern dictator, he merely happened to be friendly to the US, so it was largely ignored.

You're correct. His ideology, to the extent that he even has one, is hard to characterize. But I don't think his regime can truly be characterized as "Islamist," Sharia law or no.

Well my understanding of the word Islamist is Muslims who do, or wish to, combine religion and politics, which he'd fit under, while certainly not as bad as the Taliban or Iran, he does fund groups whose stated goal is the spread of Islam, including, and I mention this just for lulz, the MILF (Moro Islamic Liberation Front).

If you honestly believe that Bush lied for war or that the war in Iraq is for oil then you are no better than the birthers, Truffers, and other retards who believe in conspiracy theories.

NATO want to help civilians ....... C'mon

No one knows who are the rebels, where did they come from, what they want, who equip them with weapons & moneys.
No one knows today what's the percentage of people pro and against Gaddaf.
As for people of Libya seems they are not supporting rebels at all. Only USA, France and England is supporting them.
France's oil usage is 60% from Lybian oil. And relationship between France and Lybia broke up when Gaddaf decide to increase oil price.

Lybia, Yemen, Syria, Cote D'Ivore, Egypt, Tunisia and much more countries had same scenario which in my opinion were artificial ones.

As for Iraq ... wasn't it enough obvious a war for oil?? Or USA is still in search of chemical weapons??
Or about Adganistan? Still in search for bin Laden?

a better question might be: "Does anyone one know what us bombing Libya is supposed to - actually, like, you know - achieve?"

WikiLeaks: U.S. secretly backed Syria opposition - CBS News

Syria, Lybia, Egypt, Cote D'Ivore, Tunisia, Yemen ect ect .... everywhere you can find a trace of USA.

In the US the corporate news medias have blinded and blunted the public opinion and offer soap news instead and responsible journalism.

Thnx god we have wikileaks nowdays.
