    Seriously, is there any way to maybe hum or sing a sample of a song and find it? Is there any website that does that?

    My mom had great taste in opera and classical but I have no idea what were the songs.

    Umm...4 Seasons Spring 1st movement would be a first guess, just because that tends to be Vivaldi's most well-known piece.

    This may seem off topic a bit, but I would consider a couple of Jazz composers in the realm of American music. Duke Ellington and Eubie Blake come to mind.

    Incidentally. Speaking of Gershwin, did you know his compositon "Rhapsody In Blue" was originally commissioned for the Paul Whiteman Orchestra?
