But isn't she black? How could it be racist?

Beyonce is not black anymore than Halle Berry is.

This is black:

Until I see someone of Kenyan descent winning an Academy Award, I'm not really shedding tears of pride. Beyonce representing black people is a joke. She is fair skinned, spoiled, and rich. Nothing about her represents the underprivileged demographic she is trying to portray.

Hey, you have a Kenyan president.

Beyonce will be in black face for the March issue of L'Offciel Magazine to to honor musician and human rights activist Fela Kuti.

Well I'm impressed for one thing that people outside Europe and Africa have come across Fela Kuti - however the human rights activist was his brother Beko Ransome-Kuti. If Fela had died in a Nigerian jail there wouldn't have been the street uproar that would have happened if Beko had been jailed and died. Come to that, their mother was the one who started off the human rights movement in Nigeria.

Speaks volumes that the honouring of Fela Kuti is happening in France though and not across the pond in her home nation.

-- I am not ready to say it is racist but can see how some folks find it offensive, regressive and yes even racist.

Did you find the hollywood movie about two black guys made up as white girls racist? (can't remember it as I couldn't be bothered to watch it)

And you, posted twice.

It's worth reminding the Aussies which side their bread is buttered on. Like we have to remind them every so often who's the daddy at cricket.

She'd be seen as black if she weren't so hot, Obama is of mixed race too but he's still called "black" by both white and black communities.

Beyonce is a dumb bimbo.

And someone is extremely jealous of her talent, riches and ability.

The thing about blackface is it's only racist if it's done to mock black people, which this clearly isn't.

This^^. Why is this even a question?

This "black-face" thing dates back to a time when there was much more ignorance.
Most people back then simply did not know any better - much like a young child.
Today, there are still a few who are not "grown up", maybe there always will be some "adult children"..
So, IMO, its not racist, its history, the way things were.

Another one for the basement, this one is so silly and devoid of any value, other than the great pics, of course.
