    Who best represents Conservative philosophy?

Just a poll to see who people see as the heart of Conservatism. This poll is only for Conservatives to answer. This is also multiple choice, and a public poll.

Liberals, please stay out, as I know for a fact that many of your answers will be for the purpose of trolling. LOL.

Dana...how could you leave Barry Goldwater off the list. He is the father of "conservatism".

Currently? Paul Ryan did an excellent job of it last Tuesday, but I pick Reagan from the list.

I was limited by 10 poll options. I chose Ron Paul and Ronald Reagan over Barry Goldwater, since they together comprise the modern day equivalent.

Again, limited by 10 choices. If I had more choices available, I would have included him. However, space is limited, so I chose what I felt best represented philosophies within the groups of Paleocons, Neocons, Tea Partiers, and the Republican establishment.

I thought it was because you are a phony conservative.

    Damn, did it again...sorry Dana.

Buckley was the last great intellectual voice for American conservatism and has never been replaced. I had the privilege of being on a three student panel in college which debated him. He was a wonderful and charming person who is missed.

There are two novels that can change a bookish fourteen-year old's life: The Lord of the Rings and Atlas Shrugged. One is a childish fantasy that often engenders a lifelong obsession with its unbelievable heroes, leading to an emotionally stunted, socially crippled adulthood, unable to deal with the real world. The other, of course, involves orcs.... John Rogers

    Conservatism or American conservatism?

    Conservatism, Edmund Burke.

    American conservatism, probably Rush Limbaugh.
