I don't support prostitution as a morally viable profession, however since abortion is legal, why should prostitution be as well? Two wrongs don't make a right, however laws have to be applied equally and if we going to allow women to control their bodies as well as that of unborn humans, then what's the difference? Think about it.
"He who does not think himself worth saving from poverty and ignorance by his own efforts, will hardly be thought worth the efforts of anybody else." -- Frederick Douglass, Self-Made Men (1872)
Being pragmatic, accepting reality, is the way to go.
We live in a very imperfect world, we as humans are very imperfect.
Morally, prostitution may be wrong....but its the imperfect thing.
Having prostitution illegal is also a case of the state caving into the demands of the church.
I know thats crass...but get beyond all the nicey nicey bull****, and why should you have to drop 180 bucks on the local economy on the pretense that its anything more than a random sex act?
