    Re: Wikileaks

Since the poll options as they are designed fit only those who are at the very very far end of the spectrum of belief, I had to choose other. I think what WIkileaks is doing is not acceptable. There are ways to change the system of what is classified and how it is classified without doing mass dumps of data. The fact that some of that data named collaborators in Afghanistan and put them at additional risk is a sign of zero moral accountability.

He does for free what others do for money and they are respected in the media. He's being hounded after and he needs to play the cards he has as they aren't playing fair.

I support government accountability and transparency, but in cases of national security I feel it's best to keep certain things classified. I don't support what Assange is doing. The Pentagon and other nations have warned him stating that his leaking of information could put human lives at stake, yet he ignored them and chose instead to leak potentially harmful information.

    Not by me.
Communism died 20 plus years ago, the red fades to pink and then no color.
Reading the stuff on the Internet is work enough, someone else can read the leak.

But the traitor moves amongst those within the gate freely, his sly whispers rustling through all the alleys, heard in the very halls of government itself. For the traitor appears not a traitor; he speaks in accents familiar to his victims, and he wears their face and their arguments, he appeals to the baseness that lies deep in the hearts of all men. He rots the soul of a nation, he works secretly and unknown in the night to undermine the pillars of the city, he infects the body politic so that it can no longer resist. A murder is less to fear"

I have, I've read almost 150 of them.

    Re: Wikileaks

I think this is a sticky situation. While I believe in free speech, I think that free speech is a responsibility in itself. Transparency in government while good, is also something that must be dealt with carefully. If by reporting the leaks people are placed in mortal danger, then one is acting with the upmost irresponsibility. Where do we stop with the leaks? Is it ok in the opinion of those who support the site, if information on where to secure nuclear material is leaked?
