United States. I thought everyone knew America won. The poll shows that most people picked America.

No, you lost. The US embarked on the endeavour to conquer Canada, which they didn't and everything just ended up status quo ante bellum.

Then why did the British agree to end the war PRIOR to the Battle of New Orleans. There were bright spots and hardships for the U.S. in the war, but with the exception of the conquest of Canada, the U.S. met ALL of its war objectives, AND was left with a more diversified economy as a result of the British blockades...

True, the parties agreed to return to the status quo ante, but AFTER the war, the British truly abided by the boundary agreed to between the two in the Treaty of Paris of 1783 whereas before the war, the British only paid lip service to it.

The primary reasons for the war were the interference of the British as well as their Indian allies in the West and to a lesser extent in the South. The War Hawks came primarily from the West and South while New England, largely Federalist, was anti-war. This war led to absolute dominance of U.S. politics by the Democrat-Republicans and the descent of the Federalists into a regional party that disappeared altogether in 1820.

However, the U.S. largely met its primary goals in the war. To end British interference on the U.S. side of the border. As has already been pointed out, impressment, another reason for U.S. complaints against Britain (but not a primary reason for war sentiments of the War Hawks in the West and South) was largely ended due to the end of European hostilities.
