What concerns you most about Obama's new chief of staff?

Rahm has gone to Chicago to run for mayor. Meanwhile, brother and son of the former mayor Richard Daley (senior and junior) is heading to DC to be Obama's new chief of staff. He is also a former JP Morgan exec. So what concerns you most about this appointment?
 
I mainly dislike that he comes from a family of politicians. I think that there should be term limits at every level of government, and career politicans (like him and his father) can be detrimental to the politics of the region.
 
I think you need a DC insider to be the Chief of Staff. This is probably the second-most powerful person in America...if the Chief of Staff doesn't have connections with key congresspeople, it makes it difficult to do the job effectively.
 
Nothing, he is what the country needs in this economic environment.

Well, during the Clinton presidency, he was a DC insider. I think he will be a very good asset.
 
The fact that Daley is a member of a corrupt political dynasty worries me. The Daley family has run the most corrupt city in the nation for decades and I don't believe any of their hands are totally clean. I don't know why Obama picked someone so closely linked to the cesspool that is Chicago politics.

I am not a citizen of Chicago, I only "know" what I have heard and read.
I do NOT trust the media at all.
A little "corruption" hurts no-one, its a fact of life.
So, we shall see.
 
Obama picked him, so that doesn't say much for him.
 
The family he comes from worries me the most.

I KNEW a Daley was going to get hired on at some point. I had just really thought it would be MUCH sooner than this.

It's ain't "a little" corruption in Chicago. Chicago is very much like the ol' days of mafia control, 'cept they do it through government positions now. It's the most corrupt city in the whole of the US. No one does corruption like Chicago does corruption.

I grew up in Chicago and still live in the suburbs. Chances are what you've heard and read don't come close to the reality. As Ikari said, no one does corruption like Chicago. It's easily the most corrupt city in what is easily the most corrupt state in the union and the Daley clan has sat atop that cesspool of corruption for decades.
