Even from a purely literalistic perspective, I think Yahweh might have more of a problem with us allowing their existence at all. Homosexuals are abominations who mix fabrics and eat shellfish.

Heck, take a look at the list of nations that prohibit homosexuals from openly serving in the military. Half of them are enemies of the US anyway lol. Do they get special blessing for hating on the gays?

Excellent point! Love the name of the file BTW..... homoarmy

This is an excellent point. The Bible is an extremely complex work, but has a very simple message. The simple message deals with God's love for his people (the Jews), his promise of eternal life and the path open to Jews and Gentiles alike in achieving that eternal life. The complexity of the Bible deals with who God is, and in that, why this promise has been made to man, and finally the concept of righteous living. Quoting a single verse is usually taking the Bible out of context. In fact, reading the New Testament without the Old is also taking the Bible out of context. Taking the Bible out of context is a very easy thing to do.

That said, it is pretty clear that homosexuality is a sin. 1 Corinthians 6:9 is pretty clear on this (as many of the other verses and passages quoted herein)

....9 Or do you not know that wrongdoers will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived: Neither the sexually immoral nor idolaters nor adulterers nor men who have sex with men[a] 10 nor thieves nor the greedy nor drunkards nor slanderers nor swindlers will inherit the kingdom of God. 11 And that is what some of you were. But you were washed, you were sanctified, you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and by the Spirit of our God.....

But, there are a great many sins (some of which are noted above). Sin is sin. There is nothing that makes homosexual sin any different than adultery (which, includes marrying after divorce), stealing, being angry with your brother, being greedy or covetous.... to go along with your traditional sins of murder, stealing and lying.... What each of us are compelled to do is to realize that man is trapped in sin and can not avoid it, as all men fall short of the glory of God. One does not earn their way into the Kingdom by being free of sin, but he may be "....washed....sanctified.... and justified in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and by the Spirit of our God....."

I think a re-read of Matthew 5 may be in order:

"...17 “Do not think that I have come to abolish the Law or the Prophets; I have not come to abolish them but to fulfill them. 18 For truly I tell you, until heaven and earth disappear, not the smallest letter, not the least stroke of a pen, will by any means disappear from the Law until everything is accomplished. 19 Therefore anyone who sets aside one of the least of these commands and teaches others accordingly will be called least in the kingdom of heaven, but whoever practices and teaches these commands will be called great in the kingdom of heaven. 20 For I tell you that unless your righteousness surpasses that of the Pharisees and the teachers of the law, you will certainly not enter the kingdom of heaven....."

Again, reading the New Testament without the Old is to take the Bible out of context.

    What is YOUR opinion?
Well, the rest of the world's been doing fine without his blessing. I dare say that lack of blessing might even improve your soldiers' lot a bit.
