Ladies, do you currently still wear pantyhose? Feel free to share any pantyhose stories, jokes, pictures, opinions, etc. :2wave:

So your answer is "never".

I rarely wear dresses, but when I wear one that its especially formal (i.e. for a ball or my wedding), I wear pantyhose. I think I have worn them about 4 times in the last 8 or so years, if not longer. Maybe about 10 times (probably less) in my life.

I wear mostly stay up stockings. I find pantyhose extremely uncomfortable. The only time I wear pantyhose is when I wear a very short skirt or dress. My fave are Eden by Dim. They have an adjustable, ultra comfortable waist and you can barely feel you're wearing pantyhose.

I think I've worn them once, or twice. There too constricting for my liking. I much prefer stockings.

I try to avoid them as much as possible. A tan and some lotion and I see no need for them.

twenty five years ago I never saw a woman in federal court (other than a deputy marshall or a prisoner) in anything other than a skirted suit and hose. Now pantsuits, bare legs and tights are much more common though the big bucks civil firms that's still pretty much the rule especially for the associatesl

I almost always wear slacks to work. Feels more business-y somehow.

some older judges-including women-felt otherwise- things have changed. One of my friends prosecuted a bank fraud case that lasted 3 weeks-bare legs the entire time, she's a marathon runner and can get away with it though!

I use them to strain paint.

They're oh so practical aren't they!
I use to make jewelry - I'd use one over hte end of a vac-hose to pick up little pearls I'd drop on the floor. .. worked like a charm.

But wear them? Nope!

I dawn some various stockings for funner purposes :) But pantyhose are strictly old-fashioned, fragile, and ugly as sin.

No way.

I wear the thigh highs if I am in a situation that calls for more formal wear. I gave up on pantyhose years ago... something about having them on 'just right' and by the end of the day, the crotch was halfway down my thighs... ugh!

In the summertime if I have a tan, I just go bare legged. Much more comfortable and hassle free.

I feel like I've been in black or patterned tights every day since the beginning of December. It's just been too cold this year to go without. I like tights with boots or black patent heels.

back when I played football, we used to wear them under our uniforms during cold weather.

Aren't tights just really thick panty hose? They get runners, but not as quickly.

I wear knee hi's, or thigh highs when I want to feel more dressed up, but plain old socks go under pants just as well as anything else. My Mom used garters to hold her stockings up, and I used a garter belt occasionally, but mostly panty hose for many years, and they never lasted because from pulling them up and down to go potty made them get runners pretty easily, and the crotch never went all the way up, or went too far up. They were completely maddening. The guy that invented them must have made a fortune though.

Pantyhose?
Why do people think that pantyhose *keep* you warm?

When I was a kid my mom insisted that they somehow magically would keep my legs warm if I wore pantyhose with a short skirt.

I froze my ass off listening to her.

Some of the guys on the swim team would wear them during practice. It caused more resistance for them through the water, which made them work harder during practice, getting them faster. During meets, they would shave their legs to ensure as little resistance as possible.

well, when worn under the uniform they did provide some added insulation and didn't add much weight/restriction of movement. I agree that on bare leg they provide zippo for wind resistance and insulation.

Ah yeah - like a thermal.
I can see that.

I was on swim team for a couple of years and we would shave all body hair for meets...arms, legs, chest, pits, etc.

Really?
Hah - so that explains something :)

The guys on our swim team might have to, but it wasn't exactly told to everyone on the team who had the chest hair and who needed to shave. Leg hair is the most obvious, especially for high school guys. It is quite noticable when a guy shaves his leg hair.

Your post still doesn't explain why you guys decided to wear thongs and do this dance:
