Here you are wrong, because only strong Christianity is a foundation of any strong Conservativism.

And here you totally discount any athiest conservatives that there may be. Conservatism is about preserving things. While I'm sure most Christians definitely want to conserve the old ways you are not the only ones. Others just wish to preserve the Constitution and could care less about some religion.

I guess I'd better start making a list of what it means to be a conservative, because it seems to keep radically shifting. Okay, let's see...
  1. Strong Christianity
  2. Agreement with X Factor
  3. Hate and fear are okay so long as it's pointed at Muslims

Thats republicans too. Just to their own groups. ;)
I wasn't talking about republicans, i specified:

The only problem is that the idea of conservativism range so much across the planet. Whereas with liberals or socialists, it's the same old same old idea since the first civiliazation: "lets throw money we don't have everywhere.
conservatives. You're just trying to turn my post into fallacy to take away from the main point.

Alfons, I wonder who you consider to be "Christian", and how liberal Christians fit into any society you envision. For example, what do you think of the Unitarian denomination?

I find that most Christians who talk about the American conservative platform as if it were handed down by God to also be Christians who want to define Christianity in a narrow fashion.

I also wonder if you even know the ideological history of Christianity in the U.S... You do know, for example, that evangelical Christianity was in the forefront of the economically liberal policies that were developed in the first part of the 1900s? Like progressive taxation and the welfare state and so forth.
Wasn't just about...everyone a christian at that time though? or at least claimed to?

Off topic here but just had to say that I like your avatar Laila, but I loved your previous one better. :)
"Hoorah, hoorah, for southern right's hoorah...hoorah for the bonnie blue flag that bears a single star...."

That's the first thing that comes to mind when i see her current avatar anyway :/

Wow, the OP is totally confused about so many things.

1. Not all Christians are conservative. Many denominations are pretty liberal.

2. European Conservatism and American Conservatism are light-years apart ideologically.

3. European Christians and American Christians are light-years apart theologically.

Anyone who's lived on both continents knows that the OP's proposition is completely ridiculous. I can see the minority of Evangelical sects that have popped up here and there in Europe, mostly the UK, considering an alliance with their American brothers and sisters in faith, but other than that, forget it.

Europa is too liberal, therefore the Christianity is practically dead, but the U.S. was founded as a Christian Country and thanks the Christian Fundamentalist Churches the Christianity is still alive. The Western Christian Civilization without a strong and powerful Christianity will be transformed to a Sharia state.

Except the largest party in Germany is the Christian Democratic party... lol.. and they are no where near the American GOP
