It is a shame so many right wing people do this.

Not that it means much either way as the terms "Nazi" and "fascist" get thrown at conservatives all the time for no good reason.
I agree, theres also lefties that do the same in an opposite fashion

and for the record, there currently 5 people that answered with you, IMO your the only one that didnt lie

I wonder how much of this depends on what one considers "conservative". The various troubles of this study could merely be used to foster more material for liberals to impress themselves on their magnificence in being less "carnal" or "barbaric" and more "civilized".

Thanks for the link. I know thats it's just preliminary studies being done in this area, but I've always thought that the terrorism fear was just being propagated by Conservatives for their own means. If they really are that afraid that Sharia law is coming to a community near me in the future, I guess that changes how my future responses will be to Conservatives on this issue. Instead of laughing and calling them idiots, I should be more respectful of their views and try to ease their fears. Half of my friends are conservative.

I tend to use liberal/leftist/socialist/communist/national socialist as perjoratives.

I don't use it as an insult, I just take issue with wingnuts who do.

I use liberal as an honorific, myself -- at least as applied to another poster.

THere just aren't too many who qualify that is the real problem.

You may not use it as an insult, but you sure seem to take it as one.

I take it as it is used with reference to me. In other words, I don't let wingnuts hide behind the conventional meaning of the term when they use it as an insult.

You left out leftists/socialists/communists/national socialists. Is it possible to find one term an honorific and not it's related terms?
