Of the following, which Socialist programs do not and never have benefited you or anyone in your family? I'm assuming Libertarians will say they and their families have never, ever benefited from any of these...right?

Several of the items listed are not "socialist" per se.

I'm only going with immediate family here, since I honestly don't know for most of my extended family. That being said, neither I nor my family have ever benefited from food stamps, welfare, or FEMA assistance.

I also fail to see how some of these things are socialist programs. What exactly is socialist about street lighting and clean air?

Because these things have to be paid for by everyone such that they may be available to everyone. Many sacrifice a little such that the society as a whole may benefit from these things.

Insurance is also socialist then. Boy with a mind like yours, I can see where socialism is the best thing every invented.

The core concept of Socialism is this; an individual gives to support the group, making the group stronger such that it can better provide for all individuals in that group.

A loaf of factory baked and sliced bread is socialistic?

Then insurance is socialism.

By that definition, the military is a socialist program. So are churches and co-ops.

While his definition is wrong, I would say the military is socialist, it is government run, and funded.

the problem is that most of you lefties support a system where alot of people give nothing but since they can vote, your preferred politicians GIVE them stuff taken from others for their votes.

It's also constitutional, which is the real point of all this arguing between right and left. The left wants EVERYTHING to be socialist. The right just wants us to run things according to the document we signed up to.

Pollution is a violation of private property rights

What churches are funded and run by the state and whats a co-op?

Your statement is blatantly false and you have been corrected on it many many times in many many threads every time you dare to float such a falsehood. You use the false rubric of one single tax and then conclude that since some do not pay that one single tax, they are not contributing to the system or as you say here "alot of people give nothing". Since your basic standard is flawed from the get go, your conclusions are also false.

Then your definition is also wrong. Being merely government-run and funded doesn't make it socialist.
