Will Obama seek another term?

Will Obama run again for POTUS

I don't think Oedipus's mother did either. Unless there are really different versions of the play out there.

I saw a production of it put on by the local ABATE chapter, I think.

Much of the economy is out of Obama's control. Just as it was out of Bush's. What is amusing is that the hacks have no problem saying Bush shouldn't get bashed because (rightly) the president really doesn't have that much power only to turn around and reject that argument when Obama is in power. Hypocrisy is rampant as are massive double standards.
It's not just about the economy. It's about that health care bill that Obama and the Dems rammed through (without a legit 2/3 majority vote) despite being wildly unpopular. In a year when Scott Brown wins in Massachusetts and Obama's old senate seat goes to a Republican why exactly should I not be feeling confident? Just 2 years ago certain left wing pundits were claiming that the GOP was pretty much done for.

Sounds like you are challenging Navy pride for worst prophecy maker ever.
I take it as a compliment to be compared to Navy Pride.

Do you even know what the Oedipus Cycle is about?
Sleeping with your mom?

Moderator's Warning:
This needs to work it's way back on track. Stay on topic.

I was also going to go with running around in a loin cloth, but I was worried I had Oedipus mixed up with 300.
I hate to admit how much I liked that movie.

I can maybe see Brown, since his election was right in the midst of the health care debate. But for the rest of the midterm voters, I'm still going to have to say the economy was the most important.

Exit polls have had varying "most important issues" lists since 1992 with "the economy" as an issue. This year, 62 percent of voters picked it as the single most important issue in their vote

I could be wrong, I just thought I remember the exit polls predicting something that didn't happen and everybody being all mystified about it.

Well they can be off + or - certain percentages. I mean, they're as accurate as any poll out there. I still think they're generally a good tool to capture the feelings of a group.

Yeah, I know no poll is perfect. Often time opinion polls (as opposed to exit polls) end up reflecting the opinion of the pollster.

Edit: Wrong damn thread

Too early to tell. I think '11 will decide whether he runs again or not. After next year, he won't have enough time to do enough good to get re-elected. Maybe if Democrats stood behind healthcare reform and the new wall street regulations, and if Americans understood Keynesian economics, we could call it right now...but as it stands, we have to wait and see.

Democrats?
Republicans?
We have liberals, independents, and conservatives.
IMO, the Republican conservative are too stupid to think for themselves and the other conservatives, in total, control things.
Obama is no dictator; he is surrounded by fools...
I fervently hope that my assessment is wrong.

He won't win. The same wave that swept all those Dems out of office in November, will roll over him as well.
The American people are smarter than we think they are.
Only JFK could beat him.

Well?

Yes or no and reason(s) why.

Of course he will. He is a piss poor administrator but a consummate campaigner. That is mostly what he has done since becoming Pres.

He wreaked the Clinton Campaign Machine ( of course he had help from the DNC who had decided it would be cool to have a half white Pres ) on his way to 'Glory, Glory, Hallelujah'. Of course the PUBS, always first in picking their 'one whose time has come', picked another clown to do battle.

Yeah, but JFK was the first Cat-lick Pres. Plus those 100000 Illinois bought votes were hard to overcome.

Sometimes that's true and sometimes they put someone like Obama and Carter in office. But hey, nobody's perfect.

I say yes. Its kind of customary for a president to seek another term. Plus the way the media in general keeps trying to prop up Palin, Obama will be guaranteed to have a 2nd term.

So, you've automatically given Palin the GOP spot, have you?

pretty much sums it up. obama thinks he's doing great, so why would he not seek another term?

Please show me any clip or transcript you can find of Obama praising himself for anything that he's done :)
