No matter how one benefits from its services or tries to spin it, it remains a peripheral and non-certified entity.
Not to say Wikileaks isn't an interesting endeavor. But to label it "the press" is a misnomer.

I would loosely call Wikileaks part of the press establishment, because they are couriers of information which the press uses. I don't think they are a press agency in of themselves.
Journalism interprets invents, whereas couriers of information provide the raw info/data for the story to be told. Both are necessary for journalism to function properly. Also, the fact that Wikileaks has close ties to many international press agencies is why I would say they are at least somewhat a press agency.
Yes and for all the Haters? Freedom of Press is just that.
