We need more whistleblowers...any action that any govt takes that is against its own people should be reported.
Lying to the public is rarely in the best interest of the nation...

I would also like to see rewards offered to the lower levels of management to rat out the upper management of publicly traded companies.

I don't think so. It's purpose is far too specific and targeted.

Basically, it's an online clearinghouse for disseminating stolen/classified US government communications.

Why should it matter if it is targeted? Would it matter if it was considered a news agency if it just targeted celebrities?

American government doesn't like Wikileaks because they're embarrassing them. Think they'd care if this stuff was coming out about our foes (only)? The problem is not Julian Assange, the problem is our interventionist foreign policy. If we didn't participate in these embarrassing policies, there would be nothing to expose.

America likes to feel it is special, but is only one amongst at least 13 countries whose information has been leaked.

Very true, I wonder how the middle eastern countries would react if we withheld "foreign aid" until they took out their resident terrorist training camps, and silence the imans who preach jihad...

What if we took out the military bases out of every Middle Eastern country, and every other country and mind our business? I think terrorism rates would sky rocket down..

    /discussion end
"We’re going to close the unproductive tax loopholes that allow some of the truly wealthy to avoid paying their fair share. In theory, some of those loopholes were understandable, but in practice they sometimes made it possible for millionaires to pay nothing, while a bus driver was paying ten percent of his salary, and that’s crazy." -Reagan

Have you not seen the thousands of other documents from other countries also contained in the reports?
Wikileaks is a just press. They release information that the government, by and large, was trying to hide from its populace. The people have a right to know the intricacies of their government, especially when the actions committed by said government violate several peace treaties and war laws.

That pretty much eliminates Fox News...
