Leaving aside his repellent politics, his name would be enough. The "Newt" is a unit of drunkenness around here, as in "P***ed as a newt!" Too silly.

That isn't a good enough reason on its own not to vote for him, though it definitely hurts him.

Re: Do you think Newt is electable?

BTW....this poll question is extremely misleading and I think as a result the results are completely inaccurate. Your original title is "Do you think Newt is electable"....and then you flip it in the actual poll. Perhaps you meant to do that (aka FauxNews style).

I can't help but compare him to John Edwards. (Newt came to the hospital when he wife was having cancer surgery to get divorce papers signed.) I also think that most people think John Edwards is the scumbag of all scumbags.

Is there a difference? Would his conduct years ago with his soon-to-be-ex prevent you from voting for him?
I wouldn't vote for him anyway, but why would it?

His infidelity wouldn't matter to the Republicans because they basically ran the same type for president with McCain.

But anymore, the crowd wants that new fresh face. Not a Newt or Fred Thompson.

Re: Do you think Newt is electable?

I would say that Newt would have the tiniest better of a chance than Palin... who has the tiniest better of a chance than Eisenhower winning in 2012.

In other words. Not a chance.
