    Do You believe Noah?

THe Bible says this fella Noah lived about 900 years...... built a HUUUUUGE ship and put 2 of EVERY animal on that boat. The logistics of finding not just EVERY animal, but then getting it to the ship..... then not having the animals eat each other.... or eat Noah..... and then you have enough fresh water and FOOD to FEED the animals.......
    Well...... what do YOU think?

The Ark as a physical object would have been impossible. Physically, the thing couldnt have floated.

Additionally, the flood would have killed ALL life on Earth, even Noah and any animals on the Ark.

Both events I see as allegorical or an attempt to "out do" other flood mythology around at the time.

As far as logistics are concerned it's impossible unless they take an interventionist route and claim that God shrunk down all the animals and made them hibernate the entire time and helped the arc stay afloat etc. Which is more of an excuse to believe in something like this more so than a reason.

can you prove he did not?

    can you prove he didn't?

According to the Bible, Noah did not 'find' the animals, they came to him.

I guess God couldn't keep animals from eating each other if he didn't want them to, huh

Ever hear the story of the loaves and fish?

That's how easy it is to negate the OP, if you're religious. If you're not, you'll probably think the OP is 'God'. (pun intended)

The thread was started regarding 'belief', not what people think is 'scientifically feasable'.

    Just saying

You want him to disprove that a man, that we essentially have no knowledge of outside of the bible, put two of every animal on a boat that we have no evidence ever existed outside of biblical claims? That's like asking you to disprove my invisible pink unicorn.

No, I don't believe the story.
If you build a man a fire, he'll be warm for a day.

If you set a man on fire, he'll be warm for the rest of his life.

If you believe in a supreme being who made the whole world and universe, wouldn't Noah living 900 years and the whole ark thing not seem that far fetched?

"A nation can survive its fools, and even the ambitious. But it cannot survive treason from within. An enemy at the gates is less formidable, for he is known and carries his banner openly. But the traitor moves amongst those within the gate freely, his sly whispers rustling through all the alleys, heard in the very halls of government itself. For the traitor appears not a traitor; he speaks in accents familiar to his victims, and he wears their face and their arguments, he appeals to the baseness that lies deep in the hearts of all men. He rots the soul of a nation, he works secretly and unknown in the night to undermine the pillars of the city, he infects the body politic so that it can no longer resist. A murder is less to fear"

    Re: Do You believe Noah?

The story in it self is total rubbish. For example, the Ark apparently kept it self from sinking to the bottom by gods help. Somehow god magically was able to keep all the meat eaters from eating the plant eaters. In my own opinion, the entire story is just a contraction of it self.

I cannot disprove you're invisble pink unicorn... other than to say, 'if it is invisible... how do you know it's pink?'... same way he cannot disprove Noah, as he was not there and has nothing to go on.

    Just playing devil's advocate.
