exactly my point... if you are religious, you'll find it at least plausable. If you're not, you won't. pretty simple really.

Doesn't seem that far fetched if you believe that, but it still makes no sense. If God is that powerful just kill all the other people and animals without the flood. No need to build the arc and go through the trouble. The whole idea of a perfect being creating imperfect beings that he later on kills nearly all of them off to make things better screams to me "someone didn't think this through before they wrote this story."

    Just playing devil's advocate.
I know it's pink through faith... and personal revalations with the pink unicorn.

I'm not trying to be a smart ass about this, honestly, but does it bother you, if you believe in the story completely, I'm not sure, that you essentially just agreed that you believe in something that's as provable as an invisible pink unicorn? I've always been curious about that.

I just want to know how koalas got from Australia to Noah's ark.

But if you look at all the different mythos in Europe/West Asia, you find they all mention a flood, from the Greeks to the Hindis and the Mesopotamians, so there may have been a nig flood in the area at one time.

One thing that troubles me about the story of the Ark is that NO plant species were taken on board. If the world were flooded, all land-based plants would be dead in no time. What good is a huge herd of animals when they have nothing to eat?

The Ark is a parable, like any other. It didn't really happen. People who strain to look for proof that it did are deluding themselves and should learn what the word "allegory" means.

I am no tea partier nor do I hang on Beck's every word and I am pretty sure most religious or semi-religious are not tea partiers or hang on Beck's every word.

"A nation can survive its fools, and even the ambitious. But it cannot survive treason from within. An enemy at the gates is less formidable, for he is known and carries his banner openly. But the traitor moves amongst those within the gate freely, his sly whispers rustling through all the alleys, heard in the very halls of government itself. For the traitor appears not a traitor; he speaks in accents familiar to his victims, and he wears their face and their arguments, he appeals to the baseness that lies deep in the hearts of all men. He rots the soul of a nation, he works secretly and unknown in the night to undermine the pillars of the city, he infects the body politic so that it can no longer resist. A murder is less to fear"
