    Re: Holiday Celebration

I love Christmas. Nothing says "celebrate the birth of Christ" like a tickle-me Elmo doll.

I'd love it more if my family weren't all f'ed up.

I don't consider it sad at all. I love Christmas time. I get to see my family, trade gifts, eat a bunch of good food, what's not to like? Christmas doesn't have to be religious to be meaningful.

Not that there's anything wrong with celebrating a more spiritual christmas either (most of my in-laws do). Everyone should celebrate however they like, and leave everyone else's celebrations the **** alone.

Christmas, I love the food, I love the presents, I love the weather, I love the 24 hour Christmas Story marathon. Nothing better!

Yah, but I goofed. I used Michigan economy to justify moving to Alabama to see family I hadn't seen in the better part of two decades.

Two weeks with 90% of them, and I regretted the decision. I'm just glad that school down here is so cheap. I paid more as a freshman at U of M than I did for grad school at Troy.

Man, having to choose between Michigan and Alabama must be like having to choose between crap and vomit.
Also, we need to legalize recreational drugs and prostitution.

    Secular Christmas.
There is nothing demonstrably true that religion can provide the world that cannot be achieved more rationally through entirely secular means.

I would consider that kind of freeing, actually. There's really nowhere to go from there but up.
