    Republican candidates for 2012

This question is for Republicans and people who plan to vote in the republican primaries only. Which candidate do you support to run against Obama in 2012? (Candidates are naturally speculative, as we're so early in the cycle.) If you don't care about the 2012 race yet, please don't complain here, just ignore this thread.

Fmr. Governor Sarah Palin of Alaska

Fmr. Governor Mike Huckabee of Arkansas

Fmr. Speaker of the house Newt Gingrich of Georgia

    Governor Tim Palwenty of Minnesota

I am supporting Palin and will vote in my states open primary for her. Heck, I will even put up a lawn sign for her.

None of these are real candidates and should not be who run against Obama.

That is why he had an option for "other". Who would you like to see run?

At this point, since no one's announced yet, I'm just going off of what conventional wisdom says. Granted, it could be Condelisa Rice on that stage at the end of the day for all I know, but these are who the hype is about.

I can't say I'd definitely vote for him, but from what I know Rick Perry seems like a decent candidate to run for President. I like his views on Social Security and Health Care, and I like his opinion that states should have more power with making decisions in order to create more competition.

Mitch Daniels is my #1 pick. Of that list, though, it's probably Palin.

Mike Pence. Could not imagine a better candidate right now.

Rick Perry wouldn't run, I don't think. He would see that as a demotion. He is very states rights.

Bobby J...South LA. in da house!

    LOL...

Seriously though, between the oil spill and Bobby J's handling of LA. economy, he's the best counter to a President that prolonged the recession and botched the oil spill with red tape. Bobby J will have plenty of real life examples to contrast his philosophy to Obama's. If he picked NJ's Gov as a running mate, it would be a land slide...mostly because everyone would be scared to vote against him. Can you imagine Christie in a debate against Biden?
