I do know that he spent a great deal of time with this radical-left 60's terrorist Ayers, and 20 years in Jeremiah Wright's church where a message of hating-Whitey was regularly preached. IIRC he also wrote some pretty radical articles not so long ago. His wife has made some statements that make you wonder about her views on race as well.

Given his past associations, it is not unreasonable to wonder if he may have Marxist tendencies, and possibly biased views about race relations. I'm not going to go so far as to say he IS Marxist or racist.... frankly I think what he mainly is, is a politician, in the worst sense of the word. I certainly don't see him as a Statesman or a real leader-type.

I voted "Socialist", as that seems relatively in line with his policy positions, among the options presented.
And, if I were in his shoes, I'd be the same way.
    And probably dead..
Try to imagine 50 years of hatred and racism, yes, I know, and I am not dark skinned.
America still has a long ways to go.

the problem with racism is that it is a two way street. until certain people realize that, the problem will continue.

I wonder how many people actually think that Wikipedia is an unbiased, objective, accurate source. When my daughter was an undergrad, most of her profs would give you an F if you tried to use wiki-wiki as a source.

If the man is a socialist, are you really a sheeple for calling him one?

I proofread a friend's paper that goes to South Carolina and he used Wiki in his paper. I told him I was punching him the balls for using it when I saw him next. Wikipedia is good for quick information on a topic, but that is about it.

Wikipedia is good, like you say, for basic, quick-glance information.

They usually source at least some of the stuff they say, so you can use them, but I prefer to just go out and find stuff independent of Wikipedia.

Same with all encyclopedias. Only good for an overviewer and really shouldn't be used for more serious research.

AUSTAN GOOLSBEE: I think the world vests too much power, certainly in the president, probably in Washington in general for its influence on the economy, because most all of the economy has nothing to do with the government.
