    Sylvester McCoy (second worst)
Paul McGann (I barely count him, as he was only in one movie version, and if you count him, you have to count Peter Cushing too)
    Christopher Eccleston
    David Tennant
    Matt Smith

So, 'technically'... 12. 13, if you count Richard Hurndall, who played the part in place of the deceased Richard Hartnell in one of the multi-doctor episodes.

But the pilot episode was good enough to be a stand alone movie. Excellent sci-fi.
Oh, it was a fantastic show up until Exodus Pt II, which was one of the finest hours of television of any kind, ever. Then it promptly slid, and fell off a cliff at the end of Season 3.

Add "Resurrection Ship Pt II" And "The Hub" to that and you're good.

The Christian stuff was there from the very beginning -- you just didn't know they were playing for keeps til the last episode, which admittedly was a pretty big wtf for me as well. But from episode to episode 95% of the show was some of the finest story telling in television, second only to The Wire and Breaking Bad.

I need to get that on DVD before it is hard to find. Maybe I'm already too late.

not it, but it sounds like something Bruce Campbell would've said in Army of Darkness. If I had to guess I would say something by John Carpenter, no clue which one though
