Your moniker reminds me of the time I was working construction in my youth. A co-worker of mine came up and started banging on my hardhat with his hardhat. He told me that's the sound two turtles make when they ****ed. LOL!

its true-but its normally not mating-its a dominance thing between males. I have a couple greek tortoises (brown slightly bigger than the common box turtles most people have seen on roads in the rain). I have had them for almost 20 years-I used to have a couple more that were old w hen I got them (30 years is about the normal LS) and have since died. well anyway in 93 I bought from a place in arizona a variation of this type of tortoise called a Hermans tortoise. it was male (I want males because I wasn't going to breed them and females have more health issues). So after the vet checked it out I put it in with the other 2-3 turtles. well one of the other ones started butting into the new one. later it tried to mount t he new one

so I called the breeder and he noted it was normal and "that's why they are called "Greek Tortoises".

the two remaining ones still do the butting attacks after 20 years. they are in a big 6X10 turtle tub in the basement-I can here it up on the second floor.

It's pretty amazing that all the lies about her haven't worked at killing her politically, but then they come from wonks who fear her so much they were making news lies every few minutes there for a while.

If you do the research on what she really did for Alaska you find someone who pretty damn smart and her accomplishments are astounding and far ans away beat the hell out of anything Obama has done.

I personally hope she keeps doing what he's been doing, which is driving the Liberals completely out of there minds, because she's showing she can take it and dish it out.

I am loving it, because Olberzmann, Matthews, Schultz, get apoplectic over the thought of her.

I don't think Palin has a chance of getting on the Republican ticket regardless. However, she will probably continue to be a well known name in politics due to her outspoken nature. In that capacity, good for her.

I voted no. Too many people hate her like they hated Bush. I wouldn't want to deal with 8 yrs of liberal Palin bashing. We have enough of that now.

Worry not, that will never happen.

 we do the exact same thing with Kevlars; we even call it "turtle f****ng" :D

long story short, don't fall asleep in the 7-ton :D

as for Palin :lamo omg what an idiot she is eh? i mean, gosh, how stupid is she? i mean, someone impersonating her claimed that she could see Russia from her house

From the Wall Street Journal:

...The former Alaskan Governor showed sound political and economic instincts by inveighing forcefully against the Federal Reserve's latest round of quantitative easing. According to the prepared text of remarks that she released to National Review online, Mrs. Palin also exhibited a more sophisticated knowledge of monetary policy than any major Republican this side of Wisconsin Representative Paul Ryan.

Stressing the risks of Fed "pump priming," Mrs. Palin zeroed in on the connection between a "weak dollar—a direct result of the Fed's decision to dump more dollars onto the market"—and rising oil and food prices. She also noted the rising world alarm about the Fed's actions, which by now includes blunt comments by Germany, Brazil, China and most of Asia, among many others.

"We don't want temporary, artificial economic growth brought at the expense of permanently higher inflation which will erode the value of our incomes and our savings," the former GOP Vice Presidential nominee said. "We want a stable dollar combined with real economic reform. It's the only way we can get our economy back on the right track."

Mrs. Palin's remarks may have the beneficial effect of bringing the dollar back to the center of the American political debate, not to mention of the GOP economic platform. Republican economic reformers of the 1970s and 1980s—especially Ronald Reagan and Jack Kemp—understood the importance of stable money to U.S. prosperity.

On the other hand, the Bush Administration was clueless. Its succession of Treasury Secretaries promoted dollar devaluation little different from that of the current Administration, while the White House ignored or applauded an over-easy Fed policy that created the credit boom and housing bubble that led to financial panic.

Misguided monetary policy can ruin an Administration as thoroughly as higher taxes and destructive regulation, and the new GOP majority in the House and especially the next GOP President need to be alert to the dangers. Mrs. Palin is way ahead of her potential Presidential competitors on this policy point, and she shows a talent for putting a technical subject in language that average Americans can understand...

i really, truly, deeply hope that you and everyone like you maintains this belief that you are safe underestimating her.

because i am going to have a great time watching your heads explode in Nov 2012. :D It will be even more delicious than when Bush beat Kerry.

Agree with you that Palin is not the dimwit that the Left has and continues to portray her as. And I see her as an excellent motivator and energizer for advancing conservative values/principles.

But don't think she should or will re-enter the political arena as a candidate. She is too polarizing and the press would (again) crucify her. When she resigned the governorship of Alaska I think she eliminated any option/possibility of a Presidential run. And can imagine she realized that at the time...

I find it odd when people say the press 'crucified' her. Oh I'm sorry? What was she attacked for? Her intelligence? We'll color me silly, that's what everyone in politics gets attacked for. Whether what they have inside their skull is enough to make them president.

Maybe it was the fact that she herself provided more soundbytes that one could possibly ever use? All this bitching about Palin being called dumb when Obama was attacked for being a Muslim, Christian, Atheist, Communist, Fascist and Nazi in the same sentence(Of course you'd have to watch FOX to hear it all in the same sentence) is ridonkulous.

well, certainly they went out of their way to try to paint her as an idiot.

she was also attacked for running for office even though she was a mother (doesn't she realize she won't be able to take care of her kids?), and "not being a 'real' woman" (because, you know, she's pro-life and stuff).

Andrew Sullivan, for example, attacked her by claiming that she was lying to the nation and Trig (her kid with Downs Syndrome) was actually Bristols' first child

The press went nuts on her. a Conservative Woman who can give the kind of speech that she did at the convention? talk about a threat.

hilariously, she was even attacked for her "lack of experience". by the same press busy fawning over a man who had been a Senator for all of 10 minutes (and whose inexperience is now showing).

Maybe it was the fact that she herself provided more soundbytes that one could possibly ever use?

the 14 hour interview was an incredibly stupid idea, pushed by an aide whom we have since learned had interesting motives.

I would like to see a single instance of FOX news calling President or Candidate Obama (for example) a Muslim? a single instance? :)

You say that like it's SO impossible. People have done stranger things for their children and grandchildren. My nephew spent the first 2.5 years of his life thinking my parents were his. If the parent doesn't step up, it can't be proven either way.

I want to see an original birth certificate!!!!

FoxNews.com - Obama a Muslim! Lincoln a Catholic! FDR a Jew! Why Americans Don

In 2010, in the midst of tensions surrounding wars in Iraq and Afghanistan as well as economic hardship from the Great Recession, it is widely believed in the United States that Barack Obama is Muslim. Coming on the heels of decades of anti-Muslim sentiment, the rumors seem to have had several roots: The first is the ambiguous nature of Obama’s upbringing, in which his father was a Muslim and he spent formative time as a child in a Muslim country; the second is his political outreach to the Muslim world and his support of the rights of Muslim-Americans. The rumors have been widely repeated by Obama’s political opponents.

Perhaps the most surprising thing about the news this week that 1 in 5 Americans believe Barack Obama is Muslim is that so many people greeted the news as a surprise. Americans taking out their discrimination toward minority religions on the president of the United States is as American as apple
pie; the custom has been going on as long as there has been a presidency. George Washington was the subject of widespread grumbling that he was a more loyal Mason than he was a Christian.

Exclusive: Obama's Religious Upbringing Explored by Author Stephen Mansfield - Hannity - FOXNews.com

The double speak of FOX News speaks for itself:

MANSFIELD: I tried to, yes.

COLMES: He is not a Muslim, as some have tried to say.

MANSFIELD: No, no.

COLMES: Never was a Muslim.

MANSFIELD: Practiced in his youth with his father lightly, very lightly, but no, never officially a Muslim, because you can't really be one until after adolescence. And he wasn't...

COLMES: And there's no question he is a

The implication here seems to be that Obama was not a practicing Muslim. Righteven though his father was. Which would make him a Christian correct? Wrong. This is what followed a few days later:

Gabriel, with her ghoulish grin, let loose a torrent of hideous attacks in her hideous, shrieky voice, “Because of his actions… pandering to the Islamic world, apologizing on behalf of America to the Islamic world, praising the Islamic world while putting America down,” etc.

Later, after Hannity went “through the history of this” with his own smearing of Obama as too Muslim-friendly - and “Democrat” Caddell said the findings “signal” that Americans think “the man we thought we elected and the man we’ve elected, we’re not sure!” – it was time for Gabriel to shriek again, this time with a slew of distortions and falsehoods:

Gabriel said, "The signs and the information were all out there. President Obama was born into the Islamic faith raised as a Muslim as a child, had a father who was a Muslim, he attended Islamic schools.”

WILLIAMS: Yeah. I mean, I think they're more accepted in corporate America, more accepted in the media. When you talk about things like experience, I mean, Hillary Clinton's had a term in the Senate, now starting her second. But I don't think it's that much greater in terms of foreign policy experience than Barack Obama.

HUME: I don't agree.

WILLIAMS: And I think in terms of Obama and race, I still think that there's -- and don't forget the idea that, you know, he comes from a father who was a Muslim and all that. I mean, I think that, given that we're at war with Muslim extremists, that presents a problem. And I think there's a lot of -- for all the openness to Obama and the whole idea of a fresh new start, I think race continues to be an issue.

It`s the `some people say`tactic.

well, certainly they went out of their way to try to paint her as an idiot.

One does not require the oil application techniques of a Picasso to perform that task.

True that. You can add that to 8 years of Clinton bashing too. Besides, we still have 6 more years to bash Obama yet before it's the liberal's turn. 24 years of non-stop partisan bashing. Will it ever get old?

I imagine it'll get old once it tears your country apart. Or maybe it'll just pick up steam. XD

I do hope you're being sarcastic, but if you're not....

Trig Palin was born on 4/18/08. Bristol gave birth to Tripp on 12/29/08. Could you explain how Bristol could have a baby in April and another one in December of the same year?

Isn't it obvious? Trig was born super prematurely

Palin should definitely be the GOP nominee. This is from the latest AP poll released today:

In terms of winning the 2012 nomination, the question is how Republican-leaning Americans view the contenders. Palin comes out on top. Among adults who identify themselves as Republicans or GOP-leaning independents, 79 percent view her favorably, and 17 percent unfavorably.

Republicans get it.....it is those in control of the party that are trying to bring Palin down, not the Democrats.

Don't listen to those who control your party, Republicans....when it comes to the primary, vote for conscience and vote for the candidate who should get the GOP nomination - Sarah Palin.

Right on Disneydude. Keep pushing Palin and do not rest until she makes that acceptance speech in the summer of 2012.;)

 your final bit is telling. i tell you what, i'll give you this. concerns about Trigs' birth certificate are about as legitimate as concerns about Obama's; and both are indicative of the anything-is-acceptable-so-long-as-it-slings-mud-against-someone-i-don't-like mindset.

Dude, that was my point exactly. The baby's is as likely to be unacceptable as the President's is. Surely you realize if anybody in either party had anything to prevent him from running, winning, and taking office, they'd have fired that **** off in 2007. Seriously.

ah. so no, you don't have a single instance of anyone from FOX news claiming he's a muslim; you only have people addressing the belief in order to discredit it.

now don't get me wrong, there are people on FOX who certainly tried to paint Obama as someone with ties to religious extremists.... Black Liberation theology wise; but that's Christianity (or, rather, an outgrowth thereof), not Islam.

incidentally, when your source 'reports' like this: "Gabriel, with her ghoulish grin, let loose a torrent of hideous attacks in her hideous, shrieky voice,", that might be a sign to you that what you are reading is someone attempting to read as much as possible into what's being said, rather than attempting to figure out what is actually being said.

yup. my point is that when McCain was presented with people claiming Obama was a secret Muslim, he immediately cut them off and corrected them in public. The Right in general repudiates the Birther nutcases; I personally see them in the same light as I do the 9/11 Truthers (though that last set is certainly more insidious). Yet any kind of poo that is thrown somehow becomes acceptable once it's aimed at Palin. Sullivan still has his job, and people still read him.

Mr. McCain is a good man and it is good of you to bring up his integrity. His entire family seems to be pretty honest about their thoughts on the Palin clan anyways. I personally just want to see her be elected so she can bomb and go away. She is a unneeded distraction where **** is supposed to be serious not dance offs and reality TV shows, or not being able to answer a complicated question with a straight outward response or even a simple question such as what magazines you read.

Sarah Palin for the Republican 2012 candidate anyone? I have even personally thought about volunteering for her campaign.

Seriously, it will kill THREE birds with one stone--insure that Obama can make a mark for the better (by obviously crushing her), defuse the tea party fad (the current BS one not the legit one thast it started out for its first like month of existence) created by political think tanks and finally get rid of the Paris Hilton of politics, and God bless Mr. McCain but, erase the worst mistake he has made in his entire life.

So who's with me?! PALIN! PALIN! PALIN! PALIN!

Where you sailin? I'm sailin' with Palin baby! Drill baby drill!

Where did you think you could hit anything with a stone.
You missed the first bird because Obama is his own worst enemy. He is going to self destruct.
You missed the second bird because there will no longer be a need for the tea party. They will become Republicans.
You missed the third bird because picking Palin was a strokje of genius
