Point is that Republican legislators are almost always gas bags. Ohio is undoubtedly a big winner in farm subsidies. Have you called your legislators?

Which are the top cotton growing states and recipients of generous tax subsidies? -Kind of a who's who of staunch Republicanism-Texas, Louisiana, Georgia, and S. Carolina, home of that Tea Party darling, Jim Demint. Hmmm? I wonder if Jim has protested the fact that tax payers are providing welfare to his state's cotton growers? U.S. cotton growers were so adamant about retaining their subsidies that a dispute over this practice with Brazil was resolved by having the U.S. taxpayer subsidize Brazilian cotton growers, as well!

I cannot believe that people still take you seriously after contuned remarks like these.

Unlike most people (hint hint)I don't make insulting remarks about people who post on forums. The Biggest problem with conservativism, in gov't, is that too few practice what they preach. I guess you must hate to have that sort of hypocricy pointed out since you have no reponse except a pointless derrogatory remark.

Wondering aloud why people still take you seriously when you post such partisan dreck isn't an insult - except to maybe those that still take you seriously.

Actually, I don't waste my online efforts "wondering out loud" about non specifics. If you care to point out a single falsehood I have expressed, be my guest.

I posted some facts to which you are rendered mute. I am not particularly partisan- the Dems are guilty of ladeling out corporate welfare- certainly- I should think it was obvious that I am picking on Repubs because they are the ones campaigning (and winning) on the small gov't /frugality mantra. I don't much bother with forums, any longer. I returned for a visit because this forum lists starboard and, post election, I wanted to try to understand why/ how voters think anything will change w/o fundamental changes to the system. I have failed to get much of a response. C'est la vie.

Reducing the deficit is easy. Just stop spending so much money on war. Defense (military) accounts for 20% of federal spending. Our enemies have to blow themselves up while we fly in airplanes. We could easily chop off 25% of that budget without impacting our ability to protect ourselves from our enemies. And maybe we can stop killing Anghani or Iraqi civilians in their own country.

    FY2009 spending........$3518.2B
    FY2009 revenue.........$2104.6B
    FY2009 deficit............$1413.6B
    FY2009 DoD spending..$655.0B (18.6%)
Cut DoD spending to $0 and you still have a $758B deficit.

Try again. I used a colorful adjective to describe the way that legislator's actions do not match their rhetoric You have nothing substantive to say on that topic, I guess.

No need, as I cited a falsehood.

I addressed this many many posts ago. You failed to respond.
