Okay, I'm tired of playing whack-a-mole. This thread is nothing more than a bait thread put up by a poster who has no intention of doing anything other than baiting, as evidenced in his posting history to this point. The poster's contributions are deliberately inflammatory and no longer deserve a legitimate, honest response as far as I'm concerned, and none shall be given by me from this point forward.

[/relevant portion of thread]

Erratum: Troubadour started the thread, not haymarket.

Concession? No idea of what you speak. Just ask and you shall receive Rev. I think thats from the Good Book and a Rev would get that.

What is you that you want to know that I did not already answer. Better do it quickly because I will be out for the evening.

Didn't you notice the picture I posted several pages back? It could have saved you the effort.

I gave you the three relevant posts. This post of your and any subsequent that does not address the three in question is fail on the start by you.

Yeah, I know. I should have listened.

By the way, haymarket didn't start this thread. His doppelgänger Troubadour did. I was in error. Mea culpa.

I mean, seriously, even the title of the thread screams dishonesty.

Yeah, it's kinda like, "do libertarians still beat their significan others?"

Yeah, it's kinda like, "do libertarians still beat their significan others?"

And this is coming from me. And you know how much I dislike libertarian philosophy. (and if not, trust me, I don't like it).

Yeah, but I definitely wouldn't put your tactics nor responses in the same category as certain others on this thread.

from the rev in post #179

You are conceding a libertarian society would work under certain conditions, you need to explain with evidence how it would not work in present conditions.

As I have already explained to you and answered you before .... did you miss my answer.....NO I AM NOT CONCEDING A LIBERTARIAN SOCIETY WOULD WORK.

Are we clear on that?

You make the fundamental error that when someone humors your position for the purposes of discussion that they are conceding something which they are not.

I think there are plenty of honest criticisms.

You did? Where? What post?

Fail.

And Coronado - why are you so angry with me? Why can't you discuss these ideas calmly and without such ire?
Evidence? Need proof.

What the heck is being asked here?

Are you asking me for proof that libertarianism is a belief system based on accepted axioms? Do you think otherwise that it is not?

post 182 repeats the same thing.

Are you really asking me for evidence that libertarianism is a belief system based on accepted axioms? What else could it be?

You do know what an axiom is - right?

/facepalm

If you dont want to back up your bloviatons just be honest about it.

But yet, you and others have participated in it for over 20 pages. Obviously you do not like the thread or its title or its implications. I did not start this thread but I would guess that the title is written the way it is to spur discussion. This does not appear to be unusual here.

Rev
lets make this simple

1- do you accept that libertarianism is a belief system?

2- do you agree that people who are libertarians adopt this system for themselves

3- do you agree the libertarianism involves the acceptance of certain axioms?

I have been in discussions with libertarians for many years and I have never come across one yet who did not accept this simple statements. What is there to fight about on this simple statement?????

This is really puzzling.

Our founding fathers were libertarians!

They were also aristocrats with slaves and almost sparked another revolution when they introduced taxes of their own.
