And wth? There are like 60 votes supporting CVS, and about 5 min ago there were only 40(ish). Poll trolling is annoying.
We think it's The-Patriot logging out and running up the polls, or something. As though this will change anyone's mind. XD

Yeah, that's what the NP at the clinic diagnosed me with. I've had it for about a month too. It sucks because I can't do anything physical without getting winded way too quickly. Hopefully the inhaler will help.

    And Thanks!

You can't just sell albuterol steroid inhalers to anyone for any reason. This isn't a result on the War on Drugs, its a result of good medical practice. The only "high" you get from a rescue inhaler is a dizziness associated with oxygen deprivation (because the medication is a steroid and not oxygen). This is how the War on Drugs works. The Controlled Substances Act stages drugs in certain catagories. You have your CV, CIV, CIII, CII, and CI. CI are illegal, they are drugs like heroine and cocaine. CII are legal controlled substances like oxycodon and morphine. CIII are controlled drugs like vicodin and ambien. However, this is not the reason why drugs are behind the shelf. It's all about good medical practice. Not just anyone should take metformin, it's only beneficial if you have high blood sugar. If you don't it's dangerous. Not anyone should use a rescue inhaler. It's a steroid that acts to reduce inflammation in the lungs.

I'm sorry, but forgetting to bring a rescue inhaler doesn't merit allowing someone to die of an asthma attack.
Yes, because society is responsible for everyone's well being when they don't know about it.

I'm sorry to hear that Hopefully it will go away in time. I know the feeling, I was diagnosed with asthma when I was 10 so my life has been pretty uneventful. Rescue inhalers do save lives though and at least in modern times we can treat them. I did read a thing that said the declining air quality due to air pollution has increased the prevalence of asthma, bronchitis, and COPD. It was a more correlation and not a causation thing, but they believe that the air pollution could have caused it. I think they should pay for our medications regarding lung disease. I didn't develop asthma until 2 years after moving to Nashville from the D.C. area.

I would say society is responsible for each others well being. At least any mature society. I'm sure the guy at the counter knew the woman was having an asthma attack... If it was your kid or someone you love would you still support CVS? What if you left your credit card at home and only had $20 like this man did? Would you understand and walk away with no problems while your loved one chokes on their own airways? One thing about American society and patriotism is that we generally care about those around us. After 9/11 people banded together to help regardless of politics. During Katrina many across the nation helped those in New Orleans. It's what makes our country great, and patriotism in my opinion, is rooted in sering our fellow citizens. Would you simply be ok with this if you were the man buying the medication for someone you love in the same scenario?

Just so people know. Only 2 of the votes supporting CVS are not troll votes.

Is there a way to fix the polls so that this can't be done?

I already filed a complaint in the feedback forum. Nothing will change.

I'm pretty sure the cashiers, the pharmacist, and probably the manager, were all aware of the situation. Any one of them could have stepped up.

Re: Was CVS Pharmacy right or wrong?

I find it curious that those who support CVS and condemn the ailing woman in this case have nothing to say about CVS' history of corporate greed, complete lack of concern for its customers, and unethical business practices.

It should be ban worthy, IMO.

Their selection of makeup and hair products is good, and that's usually what I'm shopping for when I go to a drugstore. I like their generic brand stuff pretty well (tampons, cold medicines, allergy pills, advil). It compares favorably to name brand stuff, and is significantly less expensive.
Oh, and they have a great selection of candy. I loooove candy!
