Are White People an oppressed minority?

Are White People an oppressed minority in America?

All the people who answered “Yes” must live in really bad neighborhoods. Where I live, cops don’t pull me over for driving while white, gas station attendants and supermarket clerks don’t eye me like I’m going to steal stuff, banks don’t treat me like I’m poor and unreliable until I repeatedly bounce checks, people aren’t automatically making internal attributions when I get angry in public, and I can go out of my house reasonably secure in the fact that any injustices committed against me will be addressed by the authorities.

I heard Justin Timberlake’s version of Cry Me a River when I read the title of this thread.
I say, the individual of any race is being oppressed.

It depends on ones perspective really. I would have to say yes in some regards and no in others.

I do know that a single white male of age 24 has a harder time of getting health coverage through welfare than a single white female of the same age. I know because it happened to me many years ago. I also know that there are lots of grants and scholarships dedicated to someone of color or being female and yet a white male has no scholorships or grants dedicated to white males. I know that there were once some politicians that were discussing how some money was being spent and when one of the white politicians said that it was "all going down a blackhole" the black guy that was in there started hollering that the guy was racist. So basically a white person can't say pretty much anything now adays without being considered a racist.

I could probably come up with many more examples. But what good would it do?

Jeremiah Wright, Obama, Sharpton, Jackson.. all those guys have been accused of being racist for things they have said, so I don't really agree with that statement.

I think the NAACP has a scholarship that whites can qualify for, if they are a racial minority in their High school. I am not sure if it's the NAACP or somebody else.. I just know it exists because when I was in school, my friends boyfriend applied for it.

Though I disagree with AA and most PC bull****, they are not oppressive, whites are not denied anything based on their race.

That may not be true. Some may be being denied justice.

I watched the testimony. He heard a lot of things that were anti-white, pro-minorities. One comment from a superior was something like "I didn't take this job to prosecute blacks". There were cases of whites being intimidated at voting booths that they just wouldn't take the case..

Christopher Coates, former voting chief for the department’s Civil Rights Division, spoke under oath Friday morning before the U.S. Commission on Civil
Rights, in a long-awaited appearance that had been stonewalled by the Justice Department for nearly a year.
Coates discussed in depth the DOJ’s decision to dismiss intimidation charges against New Black Panther members who were videotaped outside a Philadelphia polling place in 2008 dressed in military-style uniforms — one was brandishing a nightstick — and allegedly hurling racial slurs. The case has drifted in and out of the limelight over the past year as the commission has struggled to investigate it. Former Justice official J. Christian Adams fueled the controversy when he testified in July and accused his former employer of showing “hostility” toward cases that involved white victims and black defendants.

Wright, Sharpton, and Jackson ARE racists. Though Obama has given evidence that he may be racist there is no clear indication of it. Unless of course your just looking to put the guy down on purpose and taking things to the extreme. But that is 3 maybe 4 people out of the entire black population that gets what they say printed in the media. Compare those with the amount of whites that has been printed in the media. I have also been told that "only whites can be racist". Has anyone ever said that "only blacks can be racist" and not been called on it?

Oh there are lots of grants and scholarships that include whites in it. But that's not what I am saying..or at least thats not what I meant to say. What I am saying is that there are lots of grants and scholarships that are exclusively for someone of color or for women. There are no grants or scholarships that are exclusively for white males.

I don't believe whites are an oppressed minority anywhere in the world.
In countries where they're a minority, they're a ruling minority.

I doubt there's a single white person in the highest echelons of business and government in China, Japan or India.

I actually know white Americans who work high up in China and India. There are American businesses in those countries, and both of those countries like to steal American business ideas like ABC costing and best practices..

No race is oppressed in America today. Some individuals of all colors are discriminated against from time to time but I wouldn't say any whole race is oppressed.

So, no.

There are a lot more whites in the media though. Are you trying to say that those black people deserve to be called racist, while the white people called racist typically don't deserve it?

Whites are oppressed in Zimbabwe.

Working at a management level is not the same as running the company. I would wager that whites make up (at most) 2% of C-level employees at the 50 largest companies in each of those countries.

Should this thread not be on Stormfront? Most idiotic thread for weeks.

Well, since whites basically rule the world, wouldn't it make sense that if whites were being oppressed in some non-white country, they'd simply call- loudly- for other whites to come rescue them, either by invading said country and beating the non-white oppressors into submission or else by removing the oppressed white victims and bringing them out of the clutches of their swarthy oppressors and into the broader, white-ruled world?

I wouldn't say whites rule the world. Asians are not ruled by whites, for example.

And I could speculate all day about the existence of white oppression or not, but I cannot make an honest claim to having knowledge about its existence or non-existence in countries that I know nothing about.

I say "dunno" in these cases becasue to say "yes" or "no" would be to make a claim of having kowledge which I do not have, and that would be a lie. Assuming that the OP was referring to the US, I voted "No", because I do have knowledge that whites are not an oppressed minority in the US.

Wow white people can't say the N word in public without getting jumped or get minority scholarships. Such an injustice

Simplictic response. Not worthy of meaningful answer.

WTF do white people have to feel oppressed about?

Look at the rate of white CEOs, white white(no repeat) collar workers, white-black income disparities etc. Whites do far better than blacks in all of these. Whites outnumber blacks in congress, senate etc. I mean it took 44 presidents to have a single black president. Even after we were supposedly equal not a single party decided to give the ticket to a 'competent' black person for POTUS for nearly 50 years. In America, if you're in a position of power in government or a company, chances are 9 out of 10 times you're going to be white. I'm not saying that there is anything wrong with that but admitting it never hurt anyone.

I said I would not use the word oppressed. I would say disadvantaged in some cases though.

No....

White people born in developed countries have every advantage in the world. A better poll would have read, "White people, would you have rather been born black?" Any white person not aspiring to be a rapper would have responded with no.

silly debate, not worth continuing.

I should have said the same thing the second i seen your response of:

Like things such as AA are successful in "leveling the playing field".
