Vote! Top U2 Song (pt1)

1. With or without you.
2. Sunday Bloody Sunday.

The rest are all tied for number 3.

Pride, Numb, With or without you.

Look at Turtle, he's a regular little chatterbox in this thread.

Ask him to articulate specific points on economics, public policy... good luck getting ten words out of him

I guess next time I try to explain tax policy to him, I should use examples related to 1980s alternative rock crossover bands.

"Bono and the Edge are taxed at 39.9%, but this is a marginal rate..."

You confuse disagreement with lack of knowledge. You are in no position to explain anything to me other than why grown men feel a need to continue to suckle from a teat, albeit one from the nanny state

Out of the selected group what is your most liked song from U2!?

EDIT:
DAMMMMMN IT!!!!!!!!!!! I forgot to check the box for a poll!!!!! :doh

I don't really like any U2 song.

Interesting, what sort of stuff do you like? U2 probably rates about 10th on my list with LZ, Grateful Dead, the Clash, Who, SteeleyeSpan, AllmanBB, Fairport Convention, Hendrix and REM being also on that list

Turtle might actually enjoy a thread where every post doesnt degrade into an ideological pissing contest. Shocking.

I have well insulated boots. My ankles are secure. Apparently I am effective though

Mostly industrial/ebm groups like die krupps, einsturzende naubeuten, apoptygma berzerk, icon of coil, etc.

Played in a band in '05 that covered: "How to Dismantle an Atomic Bomb".

1, 2, 3, 14

a bit different than my tastes but thanks

Took the third page and OC to mention their best song by far - With or Without You.

Mysterious Ways does rock though.

You know...my iPod has stuff from just about every genre and era...and Ive never heard of any of those groups. Might have to hit YouTube...

Those are all on youtube with at least one song I think. Not sure about icon of coil though.

yeah, but SoundGarden was about the newest thing I listen to. Hate to date myself but I have yet to see anybody that could drum LIke Bonham or play a guitar like Duane or Jimmy or even Mick Jones.

There was bio on Neil Pert the other night it was pretty interesting. At one point after all the success of Rush he was taking lessons from some jazz drummer.

Next level techno? Sounds like the sound track to Mortal Kombat...I could enjoy it...for a while. Different tastes...vive...

Its a different era of drumming but I have to say some of the new bands drummers are pretty skilled and they play at a radically different pace. Drum role's in a lot of the new metal bands arent just backbeats and solos. My son is outstanding with a doublekick set. He watches people like Steve Gad and has a real appreciation for them...but is too restless (undisciplined?) to 'just' play background for songs.

Techno is such a broad term, but when I think of techno, I tend to think of trance. This is more of a subset of house. However, industrial as a form of music has been around at least since the late 60s.

I still listen to everything and keep hoping for that next new thing...I started getting more into fusion sounds. East Village Opera Company, Kirk Franklin, some others...

Ive got some music from some German groups that sort of qualify..but yeah...house...as in club but not 'club' music? Yeah...I can see that...

I've danced to this stuff in clubs :)

yeah, all three guys in that Band are pretty well respected for their playing. But they have been around along time. Bonham was the best drummer I ever saw live. Stewart Copeland and (when he wasn't tripping) Nicky "Topper" Headon were close seconds. Of guitarists, Page was the best I saw with Garcia second. Duane died before I could see him, same with Jimi
