Yes, know and love
Yes, know. No love.
No, I am not personally acquainted with any liberals
Politics are rarely talked about when I lived at home. My parents both watch CNN and Fox but my father was more spoken about his views. He's hates both sides equally (being a former Vietnam Vet who is a union worker doesnt grant you too many political friends) granted my fathers hatred is not on par with mine however. As far as I can gather my father just wants to get to retirement and enjoy it...hopefully. Other than that politics is pretty much not spoken, other relatives that came over rarely mentioned it.
Jackboots always come in matched pairs, a left boot and a right boot.
My aunt (my ONLY aunt) wore a John Kerry for POTUS button to my grandfathers funeral (years ago - obviously) and since my father is a self proclaimed neo-con - you can just imagine the gathering after the funeral. My aunt has NO class whatsoever and wanted to whine to my father (a Vietnam vet) about all the reasons why he should vote for Kerry - AT THE VIEWING. It was ugly, to say the least.
And people wonder why I drink at family gatherings.
Edit to add: When my daughter goes to my folks' house for a visit, she says she doesn't like going over there because all grandpa does is 'talk about his politics'. LOL He also hates the fact that I'm neither right nor left... but that's another post altogether. I'm closer to his views than I am, my aunt's.
