Right now, as I'm typing, the Messiah is giving a speech about how the evil GOP is "holding the tax cuts of the middle class hostage" mantra that he's lamely following....yet he then introduces Treasury Secretary Geitner standing on his right.

If you'll recall, Geitner is so enamored of taxes for everyone, he was so busy promoting them, that he personally forgot to pay his own taxes.

So, should that boob in the White House replace his stage prop manager?

I vote no, anyhing that helps making that ass look like the ass he is is a good thing.

Edit: The rest of the boring speech was that the evil bankers were at fault for any and every failed mortgage, the borrowers had no responsibility to make sure they could afford their mortgage.

Didn't Christine O'Donnell, the Tea Party candidate from Delaware for it's vacant Senate seat, forget to pay her taxes for a few years?

So are you going to smoke or pan fry that red herring you just brought us?

So it's okay to get on Timothy Geitner's case for his back taxes but not Christine O'Donnell's case for the same issue?

Your post is almost unintelligible. Almost ...

The conversation was about Obama and his picks for positions. It wasn't about the Tea Party.

Classic red herring.

"B-b-b-b-buuuuuut this person did it TOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!"

Seems like she's had some financial problems...

But while she was courting voters, she amassed thousands of dollars in campaign debt, was confronted by the IRS about unpaid income taxes and sold her Wilmington home to a campaign staffer to avoid a sheriff's sale ordered to settle mortgage claims, a News Journal investigation shows. She called the IRS lien "puzzling" and chalked up the mortgage mess to a technical error by the bank.

US News and World Report lists the same debts.

Nothing. Carry on :)

Well, they both were sleazy, but one is a Republican Party nominee while the other is the Treasury Secretay of the United States. One kind of gets a deeper frown. It's the whole Monika Lewinski thing again. Clinton shouldn't have gotten a deeper dissapointing look from people because the guy down in your neighborhood had an affair?

The Treasury Secretary of the United States should be the last person that "forgets" to pay his taxes. I mean his entire world is organizing money.

Which has exactly what to do with Obama and his appointments?

And Christine O'Donnell is running for the Senate. She's going to be just as much a part of the federal government as Obama and Geitner are.

To be fair, I don't really care about Geitner nor O'Donnell not paying their taxes. It's just that it seems disingenuous to frown on Geitner not paying taxes while propping up O'Donnell to the Senate despite being guilty of the same thing.

To me, it doesn't show how bad Obama and his administration is - it shows how bad most politicians are, from both the left and the right.

I see. I'm all about wrecking out both parties myself. But if I was the President of the United States with the entire nation to select from, I would not be surrounded by ineptness. I damn sure wouldn't keep him around as the Treasury Secretary. Maybe a janitor, something with less responsibility. A janitor can get away with a wrist slap for "forgetting" to pay his taxes, but the Treasury Secretary? It's like a cop getting a citation for not wearing his seat belt.

You would be surprised at the number of civil servants we have who are guilty of corruption charges, such as cops who steal drugs or seized weapons from evidence lockers and sell them on the streets. If all a cop is guilty of is not wearing his seat belt, I would give him a commendation.

The same is true with politicians. When they do things like take kickbacks or choose not to prosecute criminals who've got them in their back pockets, having a Treasury Secretary who didn't pay some taxes before he got appointed and then paid them in full seems like a breathe of fresh air.

Damn if I know.

Does she have any impact on my life?

Do you know the details of her personal financial situation?

Hmmmm...the Messiah bitching about how the Republicans are opposed to a tax increase on Americans, using as a prop a man who cheated on his taxes, as opposed to someone who I didn't name in the OP?

Yeah, that's Red Herring time, all right.

Again...oh. I thought he did this while in office. Well, if you didn't know me by now take this lesson. I am very attuned to international politics and military analysis, but often in the dark as to national politics (The internal happenings of my own country bores me somewhat.) I didn't even know he was guilty of this before he was appointed to his station. I'm guilty of accepting what others have said, while complaining about the same thing about them when they form ignorant opinions on international politics. This is why people should stick with the business they know. I need to stop trying to branch out.

Tip o' the iceberg.
The Post's T.W. Farnum did some research and found that out of the total sum, just 638 workers on Capitol Hill owe the IRS $9.3 million in back taxes. As in, overdue. The IRS gets stiffed by the legislative body that controls its budget. How Washington works.

Now, back taxes have been a problem for the Obama-Biden administration. You may recall early on that Tom Daschle was the president's top pick to run the Health and Human Services Department. But it turned out the former Democratic senator, who was un-elected from South Dakota in 2004, owed something like $120,000 to the IRS for things from his subsequent benefactor that he just forgot to pay taxes on. You know how that is. $120G's here or there. So he dropped out.

And then we learned this guy Timothy Geithner owed something like $42,000 in back taxes and penalties to the IRS, which is one of the agencies that he'd be in charge of as secretary of the Treasury. The fine fellow who's supposed to know about handling everyone else's money. In the end this was excused by Washington's bipartisan CYA culture as one of those inadvertent accidental oversights that somehow never seem to happen on the side of paying too much taxes.

And under Geithner's expert guidance the U.S. economy has been, well, wow! Just look at it.

Privacy laws prevent release of individual tax delinquents' names. But we do know that as of the end of 2009, 41 people inside Obama's very own White House owe the government they're allegedly running a total of $831,055 in back taxes. That would cover a lot of special chocolate desserts in the White House Mess.

And more:
Over at the Justice Department, which is so busy enforcing other laws and suing Arizona, 1,971 employees still owe $14,350,152 in overdue taxes.

Still more:

In the House of Representatives, 421 people owe a total $6,524,892. In the Senate, 217 owe $2,774,836. In the IRS' parent department, Treasury, 1,204 owe $7,670,814. At the Labor Department, where Secretary Hilda Solis' husband had some back-tax problems before her confirmation, 463 owe $7,481,463. Eighty-one workers for the Federal Reserve System's board of governors owe $1,076,733.

Even more!!

Then, we come to the Department of Homeland Security, which is run by Janet Napolitano, the former governor of Arizona who preferred to call terrorist acts "man-caused disasters." Homeland Security is keeping all of us safe by ensuring that a brave Dutch tourist is aboard every inbound international flight to thwart any would-be bomber with explosives in his underpants.

Within that department, there reside 4,856 people who owe the tax agency a whopping total of $37,012,174.

Who cares if they're Dems or Reps??? They're all crooks.

Oh, you pessimist.

An pessimist is what an optimist calls a realist. :p

I don't know the details of it either, to be honest with you. I do believe he got everything rectified once it was pointed out.

So you're equating a single woman working odd jobs, having trouble making ends meet and possibly delinquent on a small tax bill with a the president of a federal reserve bank who cheated on $35,000 in taxes?

No, that's not working, since I haven't seen you on the rampage against the criminals in the Messiah's posse.

Touche (ew. I used a French word). I have to agree. You are very smart sam (<----- that's a good one).

Well, mistakes made prior to office are very different than mistakes made while in office. One can be forgiven. The other should not.

True enough, but I'm certain many of those staffers are having personal financial problems that make paying the exorbitant taxes this government overcharges difficult. A former president of the New York Federal Reserve has more than enough money to pay his taxes, and he has the personal accountants to fill out the forms. Like Leona Helmsley, Geitner should have put on trial, not confirmed by the Senate.
