Military Branches

Which branch and explain?

The Army already has the logistical support network for such a large job. It also has a navy and air force that is larger than the actual Navy and Air Force. None of the other branches have this in place nor do they have the machinery to deploy and maintain like the Army.

So I would say the US Army is the only branch already capable of such a task. This is why most large combat operations are run by Army generals.

And obviously it wouldn't be Marine Corps because then none of the other branches could hang :2razz:

They would just fall in line with the rest of the Dept of the Navy troops. Hehehehehe!

If we were to consolidate our overall military strength to just one branch, which branch should it be and why?

My apologies for making this a U.S. poll question - feel free to start one that outlines military branches in other countries.

I think it would be a bad idea, but for argument's sake if it had to be done, I would say Army.

The Air Force used to be part of the Army, so adding in the Navy wouldn't be that big of a jump.

Nothing can stop the Army Air Corps! Vintage WWI & II.

I chose "other" because I don't think it would be a good idea to consolidate the branches, any more than they already are.

The most sensible solution would be to fold the Marines and Coast Guard further into the Navy and return the Airforce to the Army as their Air Corp.

No branches should be consolidated. They should all take a page out of the Marine Corps' book and learn to be a little more frugal with their funds.
