Re: Where do you WISH to Live?

If I had to live in a city it would be in one not too big and not too small, with plenty of history, culture and nightlife, but easy to get out of into great countryside. Glasgow and Newcastle in the UK, Bordeaux or Marseilles in France, Berlin's a great place too. Madrid or Seville in Spain, Izmir in Turkey, Copenhagen or Stockholm. I like Chiang Mai in Thailand and Melbourne in Oz. I think I could probably live in any of those cities. My experience of the US is small, but I found DC a very manageable size. Huge metropoli are insufferable. Paris, London, NYC, LA, Bangkok, Istanbul are all just too exhausting for anyone over the age of 40.

Weather-wise, San Fran has always sounded pretty great. I'm content with NY though.

Anyway, if I could I would like to live in the US, or Australia because it's warmer. But other than that (and higher wages) I prefer Auckland.
Maaaaate! Come to north west Queensland - half of New Zealand is up here making a mint!! I live within driving distance of here

I'm happy here, though if I could, I'd love to move to to North-West Victoria, specifically Mildura, I love it there.

So long as the Russians aren't marching to it, yes it is, really.

Never been to Mildura, but I did love north-east Victoria when I visited a few years back, particularly a great little town called Beechworth. I could definitely live there.

    Daylesford was pretty nice too.

Mildura's completely different, it's semi-arid farm land on the Murray river, probably not the best place if you like cold weather and green hills, but I used to go on holidays there a lot when I was a kid, and I love the area, I love the bush along the Murray, the desert sand hills that are a short drive away, and all the native wildlife.
