Fall. I'm not sure why. It's always been my season of renewal.

Winter with snow on the ground and more falling in the sky.

My perfect day is snowy and blustery, 25 with a breeze of 10 mph making the snow swirl as it blizzards.
My second perfect day is clear and sunny, 40 with a breeze of 20 mph making sailboats heel and scream forward at max hull speed.

I like it cold at night, so I leave the windows open in autumn, winter and spring.

    Re: Favorite season?

    Fall for sure

    lots of reasons

    1) back to school (I liked school and by Late August I was bored)
    2) cooler than summer-I hate sweating like a pig and in Ohio the summers are hot and humid
    3) Hunting season in late fall-as a kid my favorite things involved hunting with my father or going to a club he belonged to and shooting skeet and then having lunch in the clubhouse by a big fire. By winter it was too cold to shoot
    4) the fall trees-New England to OHio to Virginia are at their prettiest in the fall
    5) ladies--in the winter, too much on, in the spring too pale, in the summer not enough on :-) fall just right and the tans remain!!

Fall and spring. Not too hot not too cold. Don't need the air conditioning or heater on.
"A nation can survive its fools, and even the ambitious. But it cannot survive treason from within. An enemy at the gates is less formidable, for he is known and carries his banner openly. But the traitor moves amongst those within the gate freely, his sly whispers rustling through all the alleys, heard in the very halls of government itself. For the traitor appears not a traitor; he speaks in accents familiar to his victims, and he wears their face and their arguments, he appeals to the baseness that lies deep in the hearts of all men. He rots the soul of a nation, he works secretly and unknown in the night to undermine the pillars of the city, he infects the body politic so that it can no longer resist. A murder is less to fear"

    Re: Favorite season?

Winter... temps here are usually in the high 60s to mid 70s during the day... perfect for running... nights can get a little chilly (gets below 50 for a couple of weeks) but I can deal with that...

Early spring and late fall are also nice... warm during the day and cool during the evening... late spring through summer into early fall ... too hot...

Not a choice, but typhoon season can be "fun" when we get hit by one, but we had MASSIVE flooding on August 8th last year (called the Father's Day Flood or 8-8 Flood) when we got hit by typhoon Morokot...

I also hate the winter rainy season that lasts for a couple of weeks where I live... June rainy season is really nice and refreshing...

Summer, definitely. I love it being hot enough to go swimming. I love that it's light out so late. I love summer vacations and barbecues and the 4th of July (i.e. fireworks).

My least favorite season is winter by far. Mostly just for the weather. When you drive 75 miles to get to work, ice and snow aren't much fun at all.

Things aren't asleep yet like in winter but it's not as lively as summer. The air is cooler but not freezing yet. There are always 2-3 weeks in there where climate is perfect and I'm almost always outside.

Also, on an energy level (or whatever you want to call it), autumn feels like the new year to me, as opposed to January. I never understood why Jan. 1 marked new years day... I always felt it was more like that in the fall, and for me Halloween has always marked the transition. Not sure why. September always denotes new beginnings for me and the passing of the previous year, and it's not because that's when school starts. Even when I haven't been in school I've felt that way, and I always feel more reflective and calm in autumn.

I learned recently that when the leaves turn yellow, red, and orange, you are actually seeing their true colour, because the green chlorophyll is gone.
That was me until this year. I absolutely adore fall, and whenever we'd pick a vacation destination, I would always say, "why can't we travel someplace that just feels like autumn?" It always seemed silly that people would go to places where it's always summer.

Part of the renewal of fall, whether people realize it or not, probably comes from childhood when a new school year began in September. Kids will never admit it, but most really like school. Some truly love learning, and some just love having other kids around them all day. It's a little exciting to be starting a new life, especially when you know it's only going to last 9 months.

I don't tolerate heat well and always dreaded summer. Until this year. Tomorrow will bring to a close the best summer I've had in my adult life. I finally "get summer." And now it's gone again. Suddenly, I've forgotten what it is that I love so much about autumn. However, as the leaves turn their glorious colors, as the crisp air dances in little minuets breaking the sun's heat in short bursts, and as the house fills with the scent of baking apple pie, I'll remember my true love. Just let me kiss my mistress one more time.

    Re: Favorite season?

For me it goes Fall, Winter, Summer, Spring

I like fall because that means weekends once again have meaning with football on the TV, and the crisp feel of fresh air after a stagnant summer. Winter comes in second because I live in the south where they don't have real winters, and so I get to mock their weak temperature sensibilities by wearing shorts while they are bundled when it gets to be 45 degrees, summer because the heat feels nice and loosens up my golf swing. Spring comes in a far last behind them all because the godamned birds are literally out at 4:30 in the morning making all sorts of racket.
