"The best way to show someone they're wrong is to give them what they want." I had a similar quote in my sig not to long ago, but I can't find the original now.

Well - on an odd note.

I remember my Mom always telling me that 'when I get upset things get done' - and it was true. When she was irritated with someone, business was taken care of. If someone messed up and it annoyed her, things were dealt with and problems were solved. When she'd get pissy the house would get cleaned because that was her outlet. When she'd get angry with us she'd put us to work around the house doing chores: dishes, mowing, cleaning, etc.

The phrase 'hell hath no fury like a woman's scorn' has been around so long it's ridiculous.

maybe women aren't meant to be 'content' because 'content' might breed 'nothing getting done'

I'm content with my house being a bit messy - so I don't clean it as often as I *should* - I'm content with the cat's litter box stinking so it doesn't get changed quite as often as it should.

Might not be true for everyone - but I see it that way with a lot of women I know.

What I hear most about the opposite gender is that: Men are lazy and women are nags. . . well - put two and two together and maybe that's just how thing have to be in order for things to function for most people.

It has happened before, but there is nothing to compare it to now.

It's actually "like a woman scorned" and goes to her being rejected.

Now, you see, you as a woman might get away with correcting Auntie Spiker. We men, the smart ones, know better than to correct a woman, whether they be a spouse, or a stranger....

It's like Alien vs Predator, no matter who "wins" we still lose.
I was discovering that life just simply isn't fair and bask in the unsung glory of knowing that each obstacle overcome along the way only adds to the satisfaction in the end. Nothing great, after all, was ever accomplished by anyone sulking in his or her misery.

Why don't you? Why not? Who cares?

Well - I don't cling to gender-roles so I guess I'm exempt from all that thinking and such. My husband corrects me all the time and I couldn't care less! If I'm wrong I'm wrong If I **** up I **** up.

We're either *in* the age of equality for men/women or we're not I don't understand, condone or further gender-inequality stuff.

My husband and I butt heads on that all the time - I don't condone differential treatment and he does.
You know what happened to his views on certain things: like teaching our youngest (4) not to hit girls (like his sister who's 6) - she started beating up on him and bullying him around telling him "you can't hit girls! Dad said!"

So my husband reprieved my son from this standard rather quickly.

    Case-and-point.

Different treatment based on gender harbors an environment that isn't condusive to our culture and society.

    Man of the house.....
A husband had just finished reading a new book entitled, 'You Can Be THE Man of Your House.'

He stormed to his wife in the kitchen and announced, 'From now on, you need to know that I am the man of this house and my word is Law. You will prepare me a gourmet meal tonight, and when I'm finished eating my meal, you will serve me a sumptuous dessert.

After dinner, you are going to go upstairs with me and we will have the kind of sex that I want. After wards, you are going to draw me a bath so I can relax. You will wash my back and towel me dry and bring me my robe. Then, you will massage my feet and hands. Then tomorrow, guess who's going to dress me and comb my hair?'

The wife replied, 'The funeral director would be my first guess.'

Well....she is prego right now so for now I bend to her every whim.

In theory, some of those loopholes were understandable, but in practice they sometimes made it possible for millionaires to pay nothing, while a bus driver was paying ten percent of his salary, and that’s crazy." -Reagan
