So conservatives are just as guilty of this as liberals are.
I was under the impression that Dr. Laura was a strong proponent of personal responsibility for one's actions.
After hearing more of the clip she may not be a racist but she's an idiot. Of course many of us already knew that. She hasn't lost any rights she just finally went too far. This is not political at all. To say that it is OK to say such an offensive word because some other people say it is just stupid. By that logic everything is OK as long as someone else does it first. If she can't understand the difference between a black comedian saying the word(which I don't really like either) and a friend or co-worker saying it she really is too stupid to be allowed in public alone. It's much like the b-word. Female comedians say it and it can be funny. Tina Fey did a really funny bit on SNL about Hillary Clinton being called a b**** saying , "B****s get things done." This doesn't make that word acceptable in every day conversation. For example, I would tell my boss that she was a b**** who could get things done? If I did say that and got fired would the be a violation of my rights?
~Fighting for peace is like screwing for virginity.
~I have as much authority as the Pope, I just don't have as many people who believe it.
~If all the world is a stage, where is the audience sitting?
she wasn't stopped from saying anything, she just can't accept the consequences, stupid woman.
"To waste, to destroy, our natural resources, to skin and exhaust the land instead of using it so as to increase its usefulness, will result in undermining in the days of our children the very prosperity which we ought by rights to hand down to them."~ Theodore Roosevelt (Message to Congress, Dec. 3, 1907)
Wait, the crazy little bitty sex lady with the funny accent that likes telling women to use dildos which should be cool if not for the fact she's old enough to be your grandmother and is creepy went on a michael richards like n-word rant?
-edit- Okay, nm, I see its some other Dr. Woman. Who the hell am I thinking of?
"I am appalled that somebody who is the nominee...would take that kind of position"
"A court took away a presidency"
"...the brother of a man running for president was the governor of the state..."
It's horrifying because Trump is blunt instead of making overt implications.
Once again Barb, it wasn't just the use of the word but well, basically how much of a cold-hearted bitch she was that got her off the air and a fundmental misunderstanding of the use of the word. The lady said it over and over again full well knowing that she was going to annoy or offend some people, and she says she wants to have a conversation about it. Ok. Would you want to have a conversation with someone that says a prejudice term like "fag fag fag fag" or "wetback wetback wetback" over and over again, would you even take them seriously after that?
Also dangerous road? When has anyone ever been against speaking their mind? Ask the neo-cons that are so for freedom of speech what they think of the patriot act and the like. Besides that really what she says I have less problem with as much as the lady continues to come off as the victim and it is so damn obvious that she is going to use that angle to benefit someway or another. I don't know how to listen to her show or where her websites are but I could bet she is doing it right now, and will continue to do it here and there as long as she can.
"We’re going to close the unproductive tax loopholes that allow some of the truly wealthy to avoid paying their fair share. In theory, some of those loopholes were understandable, but in practice they sometimes made it possible for millionaires to pay nothing, while a bus driver was paying ten percent of his salary, and that’s crazy." -Reagan
I must admit the vast left wing conspiracy to shut out people we don't like is amusing. Yup, we made Dr. Laura lose it on the air. It's all our fault.
