Since I never watch TV news, it really doesn't matter, however, if I did I do have the ability to change the channel. Therefore, no, don't shut it down.

I also find it interesting that some conservatives have decided to ignore the thread title.

I voted no, Seriously I don't really care about the media but I do think Fox news does a good job dumbing down it's audience.

By that, do you mean that some conservatives voted on the thread? Maybe even voted yes so that they could bash liberals on our desires to censor all opposition?

As stupid as is it, I would not want to see Fox off the air. Everyone had a right to watch whatever they want... after all, it's a free country.

What I would like is for conservative to turn the **** off themselves. Maybe then, a more reputable and trustworthy network would develop. But what can I say? Train wreck news sells.

Why is there no "why would I care" option? I have a remote, I can change the channel if I don't like it.

I think a more interesting question would be: how did we get along back in the days before there was cable news and TV remotes? Remember having to get up, walk to the TV, and turn channels with the little knob on the front?

I voted "No," but I must say that I would like to see some truth in advertising perhaps "The Liberal Bashing Channel" is more appropriate than "Fair and Balanced" which we all know is pure BS.

Over the years, I have learned that those who advertise "fair and balanced" are anything but ...
Its advertising.....America's shame....America's lie..
Do we need truth in advertising ??

Don't be stupid; it's clear from our answers that no one interpreted the question that way. And in fact, most of us in our answers specifically stated that we would be against such a thing.

Ironically, this is why we don't like Fox News -- because that's exactly the kind of "reporting" they do. They completely misinterpret whatever was said and twist it in such a way to make it seem to be the exact opposite in order to make whatever point they're trying to make.

It's anti-journalism. It's gossip pretending to be news. It's like a whole TV station full of petty sorority girls bitching about everyone not in their own little cliche.

I consider myself to be a moderate-Democrat, but no, I wouldn't want FoxNews to go away permanently. I just wish they lived up to their slogan, "Fair and Balanced" because clearly the majority of their programming/commentary has a high Conservative slant. CNN, for example, may lean more Liberal, but atleast they try very hard to show both sides of the issues even among their on-air commentators.

For example, Anderson Cooper...I like the way he reports the news and his special reports expecially his post-Presidential debates or Addresses. His panel is made up of people from both sides of the political spectrum (even if it seems to be the same people most of the time), and he allows both sides to speak freely. Too often what I witness of FoxNews commentators is they may present a mix political panel, but their commentators don't always allow those who oppose their Conservative views speak. That bugs me!! But it's their show. Still...

So much for "fair and balanced" in that regard. But no. I wouldn't want FoxNews to go away; just tone down the Conservative political rhetoric and show both sides of the issue.
