CC, it says right up at the top that the website has Teacher and Administrator Salaries. Admins are under the "educator" umbrella.

You've got a bee in your bonnet. I'm very well informed on this subject. This is a credible website. I don't know how the Board of Education distorts their reports, but why would you be surprised that they do? This is a hot topic in Illinois. These are real people, first/last names/name of school/length of service. There is absolutely NO WAY this site would be up and running if this data was false.
And I'm telling you what I know, as I am also very informed on the topic. I communicate with teachers constantly in my job, and am aware of what their salaries are. The indicators in the Department of Education website are inline with what I know. Those in the website that you presented are not. I bet Harry's right. Your website gives a monetary value to benefits, such as healthcare, dentalcare, vacation time, retirement benefits, and probably pro-rates the salaries from 9 months to 12 months. When any of us tell people what we make, we state the number... and don't include any of the things that I mentioned. The website is posting misinformation, but in such a way that it can probably get away with it.

It's dishonest to make this statement at the link, then: "FTF's salary database contains public K-12 educator salaries for the entire state of Illinois." It should state, "FTF's salary database contains public K-12 educator and administrator salaries for the entire state of Illinois."

On it's front page it states, "FTF's salary database contains public K-12 educator salaries for the entire state of Illinois." When you click that link and check the top 200 salaries, you do NOT get K-12 educators. You get mostly District Superintendents. That's manipulative misinformation. I have no reason to doubt an official Department of Education website, but I do have reason to doubt one with an agenda, and one that I've already shown has presented misinformation. You WANT to believe the website you posted, even though I've already shown it's wrong. Comparing a Superintendent's salary to a teacher's is completely dishonest. Now, if you want to believe that dishonesty, that's on you.

Probably something like guilt by association, but it's not always a fallacy. It goes towards credibility.

It's the teacher's job to correct their inaccuracies? The site I linked IS the ISBE. Their information is completely different than what the website you presented showed.
Hellooooooooooo? Is anyone home? You disproved nothing. The top 200 staff aren't in grade schools. Is that so hard to fathom? High schools pay more. We have thousands and THOUSANDS of teachers in the state. Why is it a surprise that the top 200 would be high school teachers?

I just took another look at the Board of Education's report. Note bottom of page here: http://www.isbe.state.il.us/research...lary_09-10.pdf -- Longevity pay is excluded.Teacher salaries I posted are for teachers with 30 years' service or close to it. BIG HUGE DIFFERENCE!!!

And I just took another look at the link you've discounted. The heading for the top 200 says: Teacher & Administrator Salary Database. You absolutely disproved NOTHING.

The top 200 are all administrators and directors except for the #1 position which I'm assuming is a typo.

It DOES say that. Teacher & Administrator Salary Database

Oh, here's one more post on the home page:
The teacher data presented here is taken from the Teacher Service Record and is provided by the Illinois State Board of Education (ISBE) pursuant to the Freedom of Information Act. THE TEACHER SERVICE RECORD IS THE SOLE SOURCE OF THIS DATA.

CC should contact the IL Board of Education and complain about their data being wrong.

Captain, since I'm new here, I'll compromise with you.

I'm right. And you're wrong. See how easy that was??
