No, accuracy is what matters. Your posts espoused racist views. Whether you are a racist or not is between you and whatever higher power you believe in.

Hmm! I never took you for the religious type.

While I believe that BM's comments crossed the line into overt racism, I haven't seen anything in your comments that has raised my eyebrows.

Thats cuz you are an intelligent smart, thinking, non-kneejerk kinda person. But the kneejerk response is going to assess that a bit different Im thinkin'!

I was waiting, and here is the 3rd insult.

Nor I of them, since I am not a Republican. The Republican Party has largely lost sight of the true meaning of conservatism. Now, if you are referring to those who frequent the nether regions of the Basement, those don't count as Republicans, either.

Bikerdude...you are kinda the male version of Mell...and really...I think you invite a lot of the criticisms (insults if you want to go there). I am betting with a bit less rhetoric and edge you would find that your points arent all that radically different from Catz or from mine (probably pretty close to mine actually).

Back to this thread...for those who voted no, how is holding a night club outside a polling station and saying "you're about to know what its like to be ruled by the black man crackers" and "kill all white babies" not voter intimidation/discrimination?

This video says it all:
Hot Air » Video: The nice young man Eric Holder let off the hook

I voted no. I didn't see any intimidation going on in the video. I didn't much like the look of the guy with the stick but he didn't seem to be trying to engage with the people who had come to vote. He didn't insult the cameraman or threaten him, just asked what he was doing. He said he was security. Well, had he been a private security contractor he would have every right, probably obligation, to carry a stick. Maybe I missed something, but who are you saying he was intimidating? And what was he trying to intimidate them into doing? I just watched your link and I think my first impression of the guy was right, I don't like him. But what did he actually do in the video that constitutes intimidation?

I call them like I see them, and as soon as blacks get an education, they soon see who has been pulling the wool over their eyes all these years. Not surprisingly, it's the Democrats, who were the original racist party against blacks during the reconstruction era and beyond. Remember Byrd, he was high up in the Klan, but no one from the Democrat Party even sees a bit of similarity regarding racism. Now, who is blind, there? Instead, the Obama inspired Attorney General goes after Arizona's law that enforces the federal law against immigration. Your signals are crossed, but then I don't take Libertarians too seriously anyway. You guys routinely support candidates who have no chance of ever getting elected, all for that feel good feeling.

nah...we routinely support candidates who dont stand a chance of winning not to feel good but to not puke at the choices the other two parties offer. And you prove my point. I dont disagree...people...all people can succeed and those that DO quite often recognize the appeasement tactics of the democrat politicians and the destruction they have caused for decades. I have pointed out on numerous occasions the point you make about the democrats and their history. Its not the message its the delivery. Instead of having a reasoned rational and respectful conversation (allowing for the occasional flareup...cuz trust me...Im there too) you start with over the top generalizations. Then when it is pointed out that you arent necessarily WRONG...just dont come across well...you decide to go to the insult. Which...lemme tell ya...if THAT is all ya got...a limp attack on my libertarian positions...then seriously...stay home and dont bother with that weak ****. If you cant be intelligent and insist on insulting, then for Gods sake at LEAST be INTERESTING...

Now, see with your attitude, how could I ever take you or any other Libertarian seriously. You come off with this nice guy attitude and finish up with an insult. You are no better than the image you think I portray. Looks to me like you have spent too long playing in the Basement with the other circle jerks.

I'm not dumb. I can speak. The word "dumb" means incapable of speech. You have misused "dumb" when you really meant "stupid". Now, who, using your misuse, is dumb?:2razz:

An MSNBC watcher apparently.

You've spent about 1000% more time in the basement than Vance has. And trust me, I'd know.

Hey now...I AM a nice guy...but its pretty well documented that I can be just as big of an asshole as the next guy. And...well...you ARE after all the next guy...so....

And dont think for a second I dont know it BTW.

And I LOVE it when people make snide comments and then you get your silk panties bunched up your crack when someone responds in kind.

Now...all that aside...is it TOTALLY lost on you that with the exception of delivery, the message is pretty much the same?

Glad to see the Basement circle jerks have arrived to circle their wagons.

I am not trying to derail anything.. I think the black community does have something to fear regarding racists and polls. White supremacy shouldn't have an option at the poll. Intimidation may be all that blacks have to go with since they are a minority group that should be protected but somehow I don't think they will be protected by the libertarians.(or any other minority group) The Tea Party is the republican party playing a pathetic political name change game.

EDIT: I've said my part on this. I will not lament about the pathetic Tea bagger party further. But what libertarians want to do to the constitution is unacceptable from a minority mind set in my humble opinion of course.

Yes, you support racism and violence at polling places. Nothing could be more clear.

"Do you think these Black Panthers should be prosecuted for voter intimidation"

Well any time some one thinks a crime was committed people should be "prosecuted" which only means to initiate and conduct legal proceedings.

So the obvious vote is YES, there could POSSIBLY been something illegal going on.

Now on to the other point, Im not familiar with the laws on this situation but if this video is all the evidence, there is no proof a crime was committed IMO and Im not surprised if any judge, magistrate etc would look at the video and say is that it? and if nothing else was produced dismiss and end prosecuting.

Now Im not saying those guys were innocent Im just pointing out how law works, the video convicts them of nothing that i know of. People could debate all day whether they think it was right, wrong or appropriate or not but Im thinking LAW. Im not aware of any laws they broke by watching the video but if there is more evidence and they are guilty of something then "throw the book them".

For what specifically, based on the evidence you've seen in the video?

America tends to take a hard stance on voting rights and specifically, conduct regarding elections. For instance, candidates (and their supporters and signs) aren't allowed within a thousand feet of a polling station, and specific measures are taken to ensure that elections aren't tampered with. Based upon that, and the fact that their actions could have been interpreted as threatening, I believe that they should be prosecuted. This is a case that I believe should be decided, by jury, and not as an administrative decision in DOJ.

Well I voted yes but I think they need more evidence. Did they actually stop anyone from voting? Now I understand intimidation is completely unacceptable, why didn't the people at the poll not call police? Is this fox news trying to sensationalize something that was relatively benign?

Intimidation at polls is wrong and should never be accepted under any pretext. It is wrong and polling stations have to be completely free of it. The Black Panthers are a known racist group.

However I think something needs to be said about racism in political realms particularly where the Tea Party is concerned. I don’t care about libertarian haughty notions of liberty the 1964 civil rights act should not be amended for the sake of ideological objectives. It creates also a bridge for white supremist to find loop holes in political framework from which they can work. The Tea party should be disbanded and just call themselves what they are.. an illegitimate arm of the republican party. Indeed, anything that supports or gives a leg for white supremacy to stand on ought to be called what it is. The Black Panthers have some serious political compitition.

Okay there is no intimidation on their part. They're sitting in a booth exercising their free speech. What they did was grossly wrong, but I think it was more illogical than racist. Also please tell me what told you these people were tea partiers? The tea party does not support racism. They can not be held responsible for the ill-conceived notions of a few of their self-proclaimed members. Your accusation that the tea party is a bunch of racists is ludicrous. It's comparable to me calling all blacks racist because a small sect of them (including the Black Panthers) are.

Now what the hell does this have to do with the black panthers and this poll? Please use your brain before you post.

Sorry Catz, I can't agree. Not that I can't agree that those guys COULD have behaved intimidatingly, or could have been there in order to do so. My specific point is that, based on what I saw on the video, they DID NOT behave intimidatingly. I saw no evidence of them having signs declaring who the voters should be supporting or indeed who they were supporting. They were not rude or aggressive. The one question is why the guy was holding a stick. But then again, he wasn't threatening anyone with it, not even the guy filming him. There may be an offence if there's an ordinance prohibiting the carrying of such weapons within such-and-such a distance of the polling station. I've no idea what the punishment for that might be, but so be it.

I get the impression people here want to see the guy prosecuted for being a member of his organisation. If it is a prohibited organisation, so be it too.
