Just interested in seeing what the results will be.

I'm sorry if I forgot any major religion, I hope I didn't but I wouldn't be surprised if one escaped my mind.

you think Mormons are say more widespread than lutherans, episcopalians, methodists or other mainstream protestant denominations?

Oh.. I'm sorry I didn't know I was offending anyone with historical facts.. basically the schism in the church ~ 1400s(iirc)of the catholic church caused a split.. creating the protestant religious offshoots of christianity. The premise was they would have their own interpretations of the bible and not be dictated to by the pope. Before that point in time Catholicism was Christianity to my knowledge

Well, you might want to do a bit of background reading then. The Reformation, which was a movement of the early-16th century, led by Martin Luther, did indeed lead to the formation of the Protestant denominations. Prior to that however, the Roman Catholic Church was hardly the only manifestation of the Christian faith. There were many, many different denominations. I listed just a few. A schism within Christendom equally if not more fundamental took place in 1054 when the Eastern and Western claimants to theocratic authority in Constantinople and Rome respectively split the church into the Eastern Orthodox and Western Roman denominations.
East

Protestantism was still half a millenium away and yet already Christianity was hugely divided along political and doctrinal lines. You can add to the list umpteen other variants on Christian theology such as gnosticism, Catharism and the like. Some of these denominations were declared heretical by Rome and/or Constantinople and their followers exterminated quite brutally, but many lived on and still exist way beyond any easy definitions of Catholicism and Protestantism.

I am a non-denominational Christian. I went through atheist for a while and became a Christian 3 years ago.

In what? Some would say she meant "In God", I would say she meant that we can achieve whatever we put our hearts and minds to.

Lindsay Graham is a male.

Raised Catholic, went to a Baptist church for a bit as an early teen, generally consider myself "Christian" with regards to a label but consider myself more in terms of a Deist in regards to my belief structure ABOUT religion and god in general.

Raised Catholic but not exactly practicing. I do believe in the basics though.

Like Catholic priests buggering young boys in their care and acceptance of this by their Boss in Rome?

I have no religion, nor do I consider Atheism/Agnosticism religions of any type.

To he who claimed that Scientology is a non-religion or a cult, I remind you that the continuum between a religion, a cult, and a crazy person is purely based on population (many - few - one).

I'm spiritual, not religious.

I also don't understand why you consider atheism to be a religion. That's like saying that not collecting stamps is a hobby.
Hey, to each his own.

The difference in this case is...

It was written by a known science fiction writer, who said the real way to make money was to start a religion.

Occam's razor FTW!

I don't know - I always seem overly critical of every organized (or disorganized) religion of thought, belief, faith . . . . and what have you.

The only thing I really believe is that we, as humans, have absolutely no freaking clue what we're talking about half the time with it comes to the Universe that we've barely begun to explore.

I did, though, attend a modernized Buddhist meditation group which was nice - I'm more aligned with that way of thinking/lifestyle.

Christian, but i don't go to church. I'd rather connect with God on my own than have someone try, and make me think like them.

interesting. given that Christianity is specifically designed to be lived out in a community, how does that work, exactly? and why do you worry about learning from others?

Devout Muslim.

You missed Buddhist, BTW... Though there are many sects of Buddhism...

No one cares about Buddhism! Get with the program Ludahai! ;)

A bad one

A very Bad Religion

I do - if I were to following any teaching or way of life it would most certainly be Buddhism.
