I am Jewish, but not Orthodox Jewish.

I do not belong to a religion, but none is not an option in your poll.

Religion is against my personal belief system.

^^This...

...^^ and this...

I also don't understand why you consider atheism to be a religion. That's like saying that not collecting stamps is a hobby.

I understand even less why agnosticism is on that list.

But anyway, yeah, what the two people I quoted said.

If you have no religion, wouldn't that make you an atheist?

Depends. I am an atheist, but it's not a religion. Since it is listed in this poll as a religion, I did not choose it.

We became a great nation not because we are a nation of cynics. We became a great nation because we are a nation of believers.--Lindsey Graham

In what? Some would say she meant "In God", I would say she meant that we can achieve whatever we put our hearts and minds to.

That is my signature line. It shows up in all posts and has nothing to do with the topic in this case. It's just a line I really like, that means something to me.

Yes, I know that. I've read enough of your posts to get that. But a fair number of people hear the words 'faith' or 'believers' and make assumptions as to the rest.

To the best of my knowledge, the quote has zero religious implication, or was not intended to have one.

Mainline Protestantism

"none" should be an option.. "other" still implies being relgious. Being atheist does not qualify as being religious.

LOL you forget the second biggest Christian sect.. the Protestants, and you remember a non religion like Scientology.. pft.

The smartass in me says it's where you use drugs to wake up enough to find church.

This is not, of course, the case:

Mainline Protestant - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Thanks for that. I'd not come across the term before. I notice that the term covers Episcopalians, which I always assumed was the name given to US Anglicans. Is that correct? If so, it's misleading as the Church of England (in which I was raised, baptised and confirmed) is NOT a protestant church. It is a catholic church which contains High Catholics, protestants and evangelicals. Indeed the creed you recite during mass/communion states: "I believe in one Catholic and Apostolic church".

Pft. You might want to try that line on the Orthodox, Coptic, Armenian and Nestorian Christians. You must think before you post.

Oh.. I'm sorry I didn't know I was offending anyone with historical facts.. basically the schism in the church ~ 1400s(iirc)of the catholic church caused a split.. creating the protestant religious offshoots of christianity. The premise was they would have their own interpretations of the bible and not be dictated to by the pope. Before that point in time Catholicism was Christianity to my knowledge
