Making it mandatory is one of the steps towards fascism.

As long as it remains our official pledge I believe that the schools should have it each morning.

I don't believe it should be mandatory for individual students to actually recite it though.

It would be mandatory for the schools to have it at the start of every class, not necessarily mandatory that every student recite it

Its easy to read the OP as asking about it being mandatory for SCHOOLS to have it recited at the beginning of each class, not that individuals students must comply:

I belive it should be mandatory that all public schools recite the Pledge.

I do not believe it should be mandatory for any individual student to be forced to say it during the schools designated time to do the pledge.

    What, exactly, would that accomplish?
I'm already gearing up for Finger Vote 2014.

Just for reference, means my post was a giant steaming pile of sarcasm.

To me, it's patriotic, similar to having an American Flag in every classroom.

It is indoctrination and worshipping of the state/party, which is fascism 101.

And also doesn't affect those not living in or citizens of this country.
Neither side in an argument can find the truth when both make an absolute claim on it.

i don't see anything wrong with it, as long as no-one is reprimanded for not saying it.
