It is abuse. Especially when they lie about your speed and speed trap in areas where the speed limit sign is covered. They ticket and monitor stop signs in my neighborhood as well and write false tickets to make revenue.
In truth, people tend to drive to fast, at times, far too fast; speed limit sign or no..
Real estate taxes are a killer, better that the speed demons pay more and the the municipality and school taxes are lower.

I think speed limits in town are needed, but getting pulled over in the middle of nowhere makes me mad. Especially when the only person I've seen on my drive is the sheriff. That said, I think colorado usually does a good job enforcing the proper speed limits, but it still not my fault when I get a ticket:2razz:.

The traffic enforcement is too lenient here. The parking police, however, would make the gestapo blush. $46 for an average parking ticket and worse when they tow you by the crooked tow truck operators.

I live very near the border of two states. I live in one and work in another, so I actually deal with cops from two different states on a daily basis. The cops in the state I live in are too strict, my wife has gotten tickets for going 5 over on the freeway. The cops in the state I work in are great, very laid back about traffic offenses. I can zip by at 10 over and not get stopped. Really the only people I ever see pulled over there are semi trucks, which is awesome. I've never received a speeding ticket, not even a warning.
