It was a LONG time ago that I quit the NRA, and since then the situation has gotten even further out of hand. The NRA uses their media to put fear in our hearts.I was referring specifically to your use of the term "cop killer bullets".
That entire issue is hooey, conjured up by those who oppose the free ownership of guns by the law-abiding public.
Antigun nuts use the media as well. Of course, there is always money to be made in duping the public, and both sides of this issue do it. Just because paranoia is a badge of honor among some groups, that is no reason for anyone take inappropriate action.
I know several supposedly well educated people who get together periodically and clean their little arsenals that they have for events that are never going to happen. They see evil and oppression everywhere. Must really suck to live like that, but I guess in this case ignorance really is bliss.
A few individual politicians, even a small group of them, may want to ban guns, but the great majority of politicians know better than to even try. Even they know that if you pass a law to ban guns, only criminals will have guns.
Hell, you might as well pass a law that says you can't cross our borders without our permission...oh wait....
