I've got a pit bull that uses the strategy of "attack licking" to foil intruders with cuteness.
 
Not at the moment. Can't keep them securely. But I'm still licensed for 7.62, 9MM, .357 and shotgun.
 
I grew up in a hunting family. Here in Florida not much to hunt. I own a Glock 27, Tauras oss24/7 and a wurther 380. I also have a concealed carry license
 
I'm licensed to carry concealed as well, so the goverment already knows about me.
 
Yes I own 2 Walther P99s .40 cals BEAUTIFUL guns!
and I also have a tiny Raven .25cal

Probably get more some day, like to own a shotgun.

Back when Clinton was Prez, the BATF sent a letter to NRA that they wanted a list of all its members. NRA told the BATF to go pound sand. Their request was illegal.

The request wasn't illegal, they can ask for anything they want, the NRA had no obligation to do anything about it. If the BATF had tried to force the issue, sue for the information or break in and take it, that would have been illegal.

In any event, the NRA wasn't budging. I used to be a member but had a falling out with them over a video tape they sent me unsolicited and then wanted me to pay them for it. I still sport their decals on my truck, though. I remember during the Clinton administration how I had a state trooper pacing my truck and staring hard at me and my sticker. Never had that problem when Bush was President. It only occurs when we have a Democrat in office.

My state has it on my driver's license so that when a cop stops you for a traffic infraction, they want to know where your piece is. Don't they know if I carry concealed, I'm a law abiding citizen? I had one try to get in my face because I hadn't told him upfront that I had a concealed carry license. I replied that since I wasn't carrying and he knew it already, it wasn't a secret. I don't carry when I go to work, and I was coming from work.

No, they don't know that. Are you suggesting that everyone who has a concealed carry permit has never broken the law?
 
I have no reason to be paranoid about the govt, even when I was a member of the NRA. I left them when they tried to justify civilian ownership of cop killer bullets. Seems paramilitary and paranoid go together too often. I own a .22 caliber target pistol, and can hit any man sized target dead on at up to 200 feet....

My state has an instant background check when you purchase a firearm. My permit lasts for 5 years. Granted, one could break the law within that 5 year time, but if one does break the law and is convicted, the concealed carry permit is the least thing that he will lose. Besides, why should a criminal go apply for a concealed carry permit? If he has a record, he will be investigated, and the permit will be denied. If a criminal is going to commit a crime with a gun, he is already carrying concealed. He hardly needs a permit, then. It has been proven that largely, the only people with permits are those who don't commit any crimes. They have a permit because they don't want to become a crime statistic.

Cop killer bullets? You mean armor piercing? Any 30 caliber round ball rifle cartridge will penetrate a vest. Armor piercing bullets are a misnomer. That's why the NRA challenged that.
 
With two little boys in my house, now is not the time to own a firearm. If I have one for self defense, I want to keep it loaded next to my bed. I'm not unlocking a drawer, assembling the gun, disengaging the trigger lock, going to a different room to unlock yet another drawer to load the bullets in a clip that is kept in yet another locked drawer. That just seems counter-intuitive and I'm not leaving a loaded gun anywhere in the house with a 3 year old.

Once my boys are both of the age where they understand the ramifications of guns, I would like to take them to some kind of weapons firing course for kids and then own a handgun for home protection and an assault rifle for recreation. ohh scary word, assault.Just an AR-15 or something like that, nothing crazy.

Who said anything about a lifelong criminal? For all the cop knows, you've just had a really, really bad day and are looking for someone to take it out on. They have every right to know where your firearm is, especially since it may end up pointed at them.

For all I know, that cop could be a life-long criminal, pretending to be a cop. Just recently, they arrested a 25-year veteran cop for raping one woman, and after the story became public, have at least 10 more women come in later to make complaints against this former cop. Now, I have a problem with the overzealous cop. My brother-in-law has a permit. He was driving through a seedy part of town and gets pulled by 2 cops for a burnt out tail light. Right away they demanded his pistol, which he surrendered. They became highly upset to discover that it was loaded with a round in the chamber. I suppose they thought it would be unloaded? Then they tell him his jeep is unfit to drive any farther, so he must walk to the nearest autoparts store, or they will tow his vehicle. They return his weapon, only to tell him that while walking to this store in this same seedy area, he has to lock his pistol in the vehicle. At which point, he informs them that his permit allows him to carry lawfully, and with that he informs them he will be carrying his weapon, or he would like to see their superiors. They back off when he starts talking going over their heads and drive off. He went ahead and walked the mile to the autoparts store, all the while wondering whether he would make it before the store closed. He then filed a complaint with the police chief, but was told that nothing could be done because in the view of the officers, he constituted a threat, since he looked like a criminal with his shoulder length hair. Not possessing the cash to hire a lawyer, he dropped it. This harrassment occurred several years ago during the Clinton administration. Harrassment of law-abiding gun owners seems to occur during democrat adminstrations. Do you see a pattern, here?

Criminals seldom use rifles, and have you seen the new pistol rounds? Look like rifle bullets...and designed to penetrate vests...
What possible use could they serve in civilian hands?

I have never been harrassed by a cop during any administration.....Yes, I do see a pattern, of paranoia....

1. Because they have a very flat ballistic profile, aiding accuracy. Some people like that for shooting varmints or targets.
2. For shooting through a barrier to nail a scumbag.... sometimes criminals take cover and shoot from behind things.
3. For penetrating a kevlar vest worn by a criminal... been more cases of that in recent years.
4. Because they fracking want to and who cares when any deer-hunting rifle can punch right through kevlar anyway.

Funny how a firearm is legal but less-than-lethal-force isn't.

I suppose instead of stopping the crime at the offset, give the criminal enough rope to hang himself and then just kill him.
 
...and yes there's a few firearms in my home....as are there in your home when I come over :2wave:
