    Simple question...
    Absolutely.
Currently a glock 22, .38 pea shooter antique, and a couple of 12 gauges.

The pistols are for backpacking trips and personal defense. Shotguns for hunting and skeet shooting.

    They don't exist.

no cop has ever been killed by a KTV projectile designed to allow say a 9mm to penetrate a level IIA vest. There are vests that will stop even battle rifles but they are too heavy for general police duty. Crossbows, icepicks and spearguns will go through most cop vests

the bullet most likely to kill a cop is one he or his partner has been issued

Cop Killer bullets was the label the media put on them back in the days of the introduction of said bullets.
Suffice it to say, the kind of penetration advertised would make the bullet unsuitable for sporting purposes. I suppose if you spent a lot of time in grizzly country, you might want a lot of power, but power and penetration are not the same thing.
Personally, I doubt there are many animals in North America that require that kind of penetration.
Just owning a box of high penetration bullets was probably enough for some gun nuts to get an erection....and this was definitely long before Viagra was invented...

Actually it was what they labeled a black talon bullet. Which if you know about ballistics can see that it was less likley to penetrate IIa vests than a FMJ would in most situations. It was a lie created by said media. :

Practically every large game bullet will penetrate a cops standard bullet proof vest.
I'm defining large game as anything from a hog or white tail deer to a Moose.

Many of those rounds have been around far longer than the existence of those vests.

"Cop killer bullet" is emotional media bunk.

Far more accurate would be "Armor vest penetration round", or the like.

True but I was talking about all the variations of the .30 caliber hunting round as well as the early 45/70 government round, originally used to hunt buffalo.
Those will go through most standard police vests.

Hell I can buy a crate of steel core armor penetrating rounds for less than the price of the gun that fires it.
I have never heard of a cop being killed by them either.

Absolutely right, I was thinking of it but didn't want to mention in case I forgot any other rounds. Black talons are nasty rounds "if" you aren't wearing any type of body armor because they are a softer hollow point and not only mushroom but create a shrapnel effect of sorts on impact. But they won't have the necessary velocity to penetrate a typical BPV.
Neither side in an argument can find the truth when both make an absolute claim on it.
