That was Neidermeyer. You should know of Neidermeyer. If not, you should feel great shame and should resolve yourself to getting a 12 pack of beer and Animal House.

I like Mitt Romney but dare I say it? Establishment! Where has he been for the last 14 months? QUIET is where !! What I wish for is that the conservatives take back the Republican party but I can wish, can't I?

Just somebody do the adult/responsible thing and wrest the controls from Rush Limbaugh. He is taken the party on a drunken joy ride that will not end well for Republicans.

Romney and Pauls Im guessing are the most popular but I dont think they challenge the Dems in 3 years unless a major scandal happens or all the doom and gloom comes true.

I think Allan West should be put on the list has he could get major push

Please remove Palin from the list has she isnt even realistic on a large scale she only a voice and mascot

In my opinion the Republican Party has to do a couple things, stop being so partisan. Not only towards the Dems and other parties but also inside their own walls, never seen the party so united and divided at the same time. If they clean this up they will have better success.
Im partialy changing my votes everything above still stands except now Rand will not be able to be "the future" with his stand on civil rights/ states rights
PURE STUPIDITY 1.) Glenn Beck doesnt lie. 2.) Obama is Jesus like 3.) Sara Palin is so smart & shes a great speaker. 4.) Obama does just about everything perfect. 5.) Fox doesn' t lean right 6.) Pro-Choice is no different than Pro-Slavery 7.) MSNBC doesn't lean left. 8.) What TSA does is no different than sexual assault & child porn.

Re: Who is the future of the Republican Party?

I think Scott Walker is an up-and-coming Republican. He is currently the executive of Milwaukee County and is the front runner to be the next governor of Wisconsin.

I liked Walker from the beginning because he cleaned up Milwaukee Country government after a pension scandal. The previous executive passed a law that granted county employees outrageous sums of money upon their retirement. Walkers got in and fixed it. He became my hero when, right after being elected, he slashed his own pay. He then balanced the county budget and created a surplus. He refused to take money from the federal stimulus package, instead he identified and worked out the problems within the county.

As a candidate for Wisconsin governor, Walker is proposing the abolishment of county government. All their responsibilities will be dissolved or turned over to the state. That could save a ton of tax money and remove a level of government that is not really needed. He also wants to reduce state employee pay and slash the tax burden on businesses so they can invest their own money into growth, creating more jobs. Pork projects will be stripped from the state budget, and money collected for a specific purpose will be used only for that purpose.

I think these are the things the Republican Party needs to get back to, reducing the government on a fiscal level and begin removing it from people's everyday lives. I am very excited about Scott Walker's candidacy, and I think his ideas are the Republicans of the future.

I find that interesting. Abolishment of county government might not sit well though. Although Doyle has done all he can to essentially drive business out of Wisconsin, so this guy might have a shot. Maybe harley-Davidson will stick around if this guy is what you say he is.

Re: Who is the future of the Republican Party?

Wow; no clear consensus in this poll.
I think that's a pretty telling statement on the state of the Republican party today.
They have no clear leader, and none seems likely to emerge any time soon.
