Telling a guy that he "writes like a chicken", is different than telling someone that they write "like a filipino" or write like a "black man" or write like "an Aisan"....and then insinuating that all filipinos, blacks, Asians, etc...have poor handwriting.

Again...I don't think that the comment is "racism" per se....but I think it points to evidence that the commentator probably harbors racist views.

He didn't tell him he "wrote like a filipino".

asian and black are races, fillipino is a nationality, like i regularly imply all irish are drunks, that don't make me racist.

but just saying that two people have bad handwriting, and then commenting on the fact that they have the same nationality is in no way racist.

"you guys are even from the same country".

Are you saying that this doesn't imply that perhaps all filipinos have bad handwriting?

If you are...then what do you think the statement implies? Why make the statement about the country, rather than the individual if you are not making that implication?

because he was pointing out that two people with something in common are from the same country, it takes a long leap of the imagination to apply that to everyone in the country

I think the big issue is that his reaction was not commensurate with the comment.

Personally, I think all Philipino men are homos or eunuchs. Because their women are overbearing juggernauts of personality that will argue with the sky for being too blue. I would love to see Flipper's reaction to that comment. :P

    LMFAO Not in the slightest.

If you are...then what do you think the statement implies? Why make the statement about the country, rather than the individual if you are not making that implication?
If they'd been from Uzbekistan, I imagine he still would have remarked about them being from the same country. If they'd both been from Texas, I imagine he would have remarked about that. The point was just making a ****ing joke about their similar (crappy) handwriting and the fact that they're both from the same place. Where that place is, is irrelevant. The fact that they shared the commonalities is what was relevant. Ergo, it had absolutely nothing to do with race, especially since "filipino" isn't a ****ing race to begin with.

Dear god. The mere fact that this must be explained is astounding to me.

    Not Racist.
    Not Insensitive.

The offended individual in question is an over sensitive user of vagisil.

And in this case, neither was done.

It did not state, "you write like a philipino" he stated that this person, and another person he works with that has bad handwriting happen to be from the same country.

This is the problem with liberals, they read a story and then create a new version of what happened to create a victim out of it.
"I condemn the ideology of White Supremacy and Nazism. They are thugs, criminals, and repugnant, and are against what I believe to be "The American Way" "
Thus my obligatory condemnation of White supremacy will now be in every post, lest I be accused of supporting it because I didn't mention it specifically every time I post.
